Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Just who's doing the insulting here? And you haven't answered the question.

Or on reflection, maybe you will see my last reference was actually to ME! (presuming of course, that last bit was what so offended you).

Implications that I am condescending, *****exual, that I am a sad excuse for a human being... phew... please, get it out of your system.

It's funny, Thylacine, I might have been a prospective customer for one of your bikes, as I have inferred in a long-past post, but really, I don't think so now.

Read my post above the one you've just put up.

I, me, Rowan, is the wizened up *old* cycling guy that quote refers to. I am engaged in cycling education, and post to BF in various discussion areas.

Sheesh... all because someone had a conversation about football.

Shag each other's sisters? Thankfully you didn't make any references to Taswegians shagging their own sisters, that would have caused an uproar for sure. Good thing you didn't go there, hey?

Yeah, you shoulda seen the response I composed, but thought better of posting.

Let's get it clear boys and GIRLS. Thylacine intervened on an innocent conversation, by putting up some virulent stuff. I call him, he gets upset about something that didn't apply to him, and you want to buy in with more insulting crap about sisters and stuff.

Go for it. The sooner this embarrassing thread dies, the better.

I guess if I do the "Un-ignore" thing I can get the whole story, but why bother? Hitchy, how come you didn't didn't go off when I posted that photo of you and the sheep that the National Enquirer photog took at your cousin's wedding? Oh, that's right. You have a sense of humor (humour, whatever!) and don't come on here just to stir things up. Should I be offended by the seppo remark? Nope, don't care.

I copped my fair share. But as I recall, I dished out quite a bit too. On a lighter note, went for a ride with bucky and some of his mates today. They were very tolerant of the fact that I got them lost in the bush not once, but twice. And they kept most of the laughing to themselves when I stuck my front wheel and flew over the bars. He's a decent guy, so are his mates. For roadies on MTB's that is...

Anyone know why the 2005 Specialized Roubaix's dont come with Ultegra 10 speed spec?

I'm assuming its because they have plenty of last years left with 9 speed. Since my LBS keeps trying to convince me I should get one at $3900.

I keep telling you....we don't count you as a seppo anymore!........You'll be in the same 'boat' as a mate of mine, who's actually a Canadian, but I call him a seppo whenever I'm trying to stir him up....& he always bites!.He went back there recently for a holiday, only to be told that he has an Oztralian accent....not from where i'm sitting....still sounds like a seppo to me!. I told him he's now a man without a country....

Did you say something? You can choose to ignore those users that don't add anything of value to the threads, or those that post only negative comments, or comments intended to start arguments, etc. Get the idea?

[edit] To answer your next question, it's on your control panel - Buddy/Ignore list

....ahhh....does it have a 'select all' feature? ....so does that mean that the posts by your 'ignored' people, simply don't show up in the thread that you are looking at?

It lets you know that someone on your list has posted, and gives you the option of viewing it, or un-ignoring them.

Whoa! Does that mean you don't need my friend to bring you one then? Drop me a PM and let me know because I was going to see him tomorrow.

What a day. Slept thru two alarms and missed racing Four hours of undulations instead. You would have loved it Expat, loop of Lake Macquarie, lots of little hills to get those climbing legs in order. I hate undulations, they're too short to be of any use to anyone, but they still tax the legs. Shame our local road races are held on an undualting course...

I got killed on a fairly easy climb yesterday. Stupid bitumen. I had no problems climbing hills in the bush. Did you go through the previous posts? An interesting day for me yesterday. BMX cut short by the crazy winds too.
