Fellas, I missed Paris-Nice last weekend and looks like this weekend I'm going to miss the Paris-Roubaix coverage, too. I mean, not that it really matters because the thing was last weekend and Boonen won, but is anyone recording these?

On the XC MTB side of thigns, is there anything thats worth riding up there other than Ourimbah (gotta love that place) and Killingworth (never ridden it bit ive heard its hella good)? Going to take a weekend of riding in up there soon with some friends and im keen to find out whats worth riding.

Rockmuncher, do you ride Lane Cove often? i live about 2 minutes ride from the Epping singletrack trailhead but ride there infrequently as its not my favourite of places.

I had a pair of those....they were white frames, gold iridium, circa 1990. Shocking.

Yesterday was my first time there ever. I'll be takin the littlun's down there one weekend: it's brilliant for hide 'n' seek and all those other crap games I can remember payin as a kid! As for riding it frequently, well it might become my mid winter lunchtime circuit. It's close enough to work to get to quickly and seems pretty peaceful, just too short.

too short?? you can get a 2 hour or so ride out of that place easily if you follow all the places to go, what parts did you ride? if you go looking you can find to really techy singletrack. im not a huge fan of the lane cove side of things though and tend to stay on the epping / pennant hills side.

I'd be curious to see how many people over 6ft have won the majors. I remember seeing a pic of three former TdF winners - Lemond and 2 others - and they were all 5ft 8ins. Must be something in the power-to-weight rulebook that says you must be 5ft 8ins and 65kgs to stand a chance in hell of winning one of the big tours. (Unless you'rea freak like Mig.)

I was Rominger fan. I suppose it's an Aussie thing to go for an underdog....but one with a really good chance.

I think it was 1993 when I thought Rominger cracked Indurain on one of the climbs -- can't remember exactly -- but "Indy" was either having a bad day, or he caught back up....not sure.

When Rominger set that hour record, I went off. I was carrying this mag around for weeks, annoying the crap out of EVERYONE -- even people who didn't give a shit about riding.




When Rominger was out here, I knew a guy who spotted him on Beach Road, and had a big chin-wag

I raced him at the Melb-Mt Buller.

He pulled out after 150km.
