Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

RVV this weekend?
Mr. Packer received your request, and forwarded it on to a Mr. Mark Read. Now Mr. Read will be stopping by your house shortly to discuss the terms you mentioned.

I found out today about the cheapest carbon frames around -- at least, that's what I was told.

They're made in Taiwan, and cost $800, but there's a minimum order of 10

I think these guys sell no-name brand CF frames but I dunno how much they are. They're sed to be cheap by (local) comparison, but maybe not as low as $800.

Would you really want to ride a cheap plastic bike? How much was that Look that broke?

Did I mention I have a zero failure record with the Thylacines, including prototypes?

sorrry, $800 is the wholesale price with the minimum order of 10.

The retail dudes are putting stickers on them and selling them for 1500 or 1600 bucks!

Hey Ed, what do you know about the Blackburn/Carnegie winter road races at Lang Lang, Crib Point, etc?

https://www.carnegiecycling.com.au/index.php?c=Calendar

If the race is 80 to 100km, are they usually a few laps of a 20 or 30km circuit, or 1 lap, or what?

I take it by the Lang Lang lay out that it's one lap, but I thought they were usually a circuit

Hmm...out of all those venues, I've only done Lang Lang and the Modella flat.

Both as windy as fark.

Yep....Lang Lang is one massive circuit with 20km straights.

hmmm....I see

Are the winter races usually long and (just) hilly enough to drop the fat, unfit, wheel-sucking "sprinters"?

the wind and pace will break up the field. The strong men will go hard early to shed the dead wood, then sort it out amongst themselves closer to the finish.

Yeah...sometimes. To tell you the truth, I'd rather do a 4-5 hour training ride from home than drive 1/2 way across the city to do a race in sh1t weather and a 20 man bunch.

I heard your bamboo frame only comes in one size - small. You just water as needed to attain desired size. Is this true?

nup....I think they were hoping to have it out from the 23rd....allowing for Anzac day holiday, i'd be hoping to have mine this week. They are usually in the stores within a few days of the subscribers having them
