Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

If you really zoom in on that picture you can see the legendary Mt. Doom Deck, currently under construction.

I always thought that the Pentagon made Google hide all satellite photos of Mt. Doom for national security reasons - they must have let that one slip by.

Can a guy from Canada with a Trek participate? Or do I need to bring the OPUS.

Worse. I hired an Italian guy who used to be in the concrete business in NY City.

Don't show him this thread or you might end up *in* your deck.

As always, NY prices are wildly inflated.

For the value-conscious BF tourist, I offer a guided climb up a real mountain, a post-ride meal at the $5-all-you-can-eat restaurant, and an evening hoedown.

Package price: $1,000.00. Euro payments are welcome.

I'll give you the chance to summit Mt. Doom for only $2K per person, and I'll throw in a delicious post-ride feast at Wendy's. You can do it on a Sunday and be back home the same night.

There are no guarantees of course. Many Freds have met their fate on the slopes of the Col du Doom. But it's a personal challenge I'm more than willing to help some of you experience.

Discuss.
Sign me up, daddy. When's the first tour? Col du Doom--I'm getting clammy pits just thinking about it.
