Ok, here's a sticky little problem ....
I upgraded the OS on my Mac to 10.6 - Snow Leopard.
64 bit operating system.
Saris' software no longer runs and the message on their web-site says they are "working on it"
Golden Cheetah will not run.
Any other alternatives to download the info from a PowerTap computer that WILL run under 10.6.
Even if I just end storing the info until Saris get their act together, I can live with that, but .......

Just use Boot Camp or some virtual machine software (VMware, Parallels, whatever) and run a small partition with regular Leopard and the Saris software.
I have to keep a Tiger partition available for similar reasons. Annoying, but not unworkable.

Oh god...computer world colliding with cycling world. Ahhh!!!!
I actually joined a computer forum the other week because my desktop is insanely slow and was going to try and find some help. Alas, I've yet to post, but I have figured out plenty of new things about my bicycle in the meantime

To the OP, how SL boots up and in what mode as default matters less. What you can do for sure is to run your application as a 32-bit app by going into "Get Info" and, if it's an option, check the "Open in 32-bit mode" box. That's the easiest way to try first.
The actually answer to what mode SL boots up as default is another matter. The quick answer is that it will try to run applications in 64-bit mode by default, regardless if SL is booting as 32-bit or 64-bit mode, strange as it may sound. It's pretty long story and you can read at your leisure later.

Thanks, the option isn't there. Nor is it in Golden Cheetah.
I guess I will go back to using iSmarttrain for a while.

Hi
Go into your /Users/<your home>/Library/GoldenCheetah
Then you'll see your ride folder. Rename that ride folder.
Then restart GC.
I'd like to know if that works so we can fix your bug. Please private message me.
Thanks

I'm pretty sure Saris has a version you can download that will run on Snow Leopard. It's running great on my Snow Leopard upgraded laptop, I downloaded it about 10 days back....
I'm no sure if it's new USB drivers or a whole new package. Call Saris, their support is outstanding.

You jest, but I think Apple has toyed with making their macbook air body out of carbon; I believe there is a patent out there somewhere for it.
OP, if you can't find an answer here try posting at macrumors.com. People there know pretty much everything about the OS.
My vote goes to parallels or bootcamp.
