I did get an iBike Gen III recently and I rode it with a PowerTap pro. It tracks pretty well. For me since I do not have infinite $ and just a budget racer/enthusiast, it made a lot of sense since I already have nice wheels (pre dimpled 404 and 303). I use my PTAP ride for 90% of the rides anyway so if you hold PTAP to be more accurate then I am grtting data the majority of the time. Mine came wit the stationary trainer firmware and pretty much I got it dialed in to match the powertap numbers there. Since I ride on the hoods with bent elbows 95% of the time on the flats, I can take a 5% variance.
I also park my bikes on the barn, so I would not have issues with the temparature shifts that affects it in the winter. My goal is to gauage my efforts so I can push or hold back as required on my nice bike. Overall it slightly underreports compared to my powertap. The altimeter is a nice addition though.
I met someone who uses a Quarq Cinco and the iBike Areo and seems to be the best combo for TT folks but would set you back over 2 thousand assuming you need to buy cranks as well.
