Wardrobe malfunctions
Do you tell another cyclist if they have a wardrobe malfunction?
In the past couple of weeks I've seen two male cyclists who had shorts so worn out in the back that they were basically see-through, and there was a full moon during broad daylight. If they were women I would have said something to the effect that their shorts were showing a bit more than intended, but since they were men (I am female), I felt kind of funny about saying something.
Would you let the rider know if they were showing more than intended?
Would you want to know if you were showing more than you thought?
*Just a note to ward off juvenile comments, women really don't want to see that stuff when they're out riding a bike.

I wonder if some people do it on purpose just to get a good convo/ice breaker...lol.
If they don't know, i'm sure they'd be happier if you told them as they'll eventually realize it anyways.

If someone rode past me saying they could see through my shorts to my ass I'd be pretty embarrassed. Well, if a girl told me it would be fine. A guy, I'd feel like an idiot. Probably wouldn't get out of the saddle all the way home. I'd appreciate it in the long run though.

I would like to know. Hopefully my wife would let me know before I got out the door. If not, then from a teammate or friend.

Just throw out, "Uh, thought you might want to know, your shorts are getting rather thin." I did that after a group ride and one of the guys had a seriously worn pair of shorts that, with the right sun angle, was just too threadbare.

Yes, I have done it...."hey Brian, you need new shorts...your ass crack is showing" (this is a guy that I know pretty well, so I can be direct).
And yes, I'll like someone to tell me if it happens to me.

I'd let them know, regardless of if they're a guy or a girl (I'm a guy). I have only seen two malfunctions, one being my own fault: A new rider in the group ride wearing her gloves the wrong way (the gel padding was on top of her hands, instead of below her hands where they should be, in between her hands and the handlebars), and the second being myself, wearing my arm warmers the wrong way (the thinner panel over my bicep instead of tricep, was wondering why I got so cold!)

Last year we had a guy on a ride with newish shorts that you could literally see a birthmark through while riding behind him. Pretty gross. He was pretty OCP and completely mortified when one of the other riders brought it up. Of course from that point on we all had to say 'nice ass' and comment on the birthmark every single time he rotated by on the paceline for the next two hours.
From that point on I've made it a point to do a bend over and check the mirror every once in a while when wearing my older shorts.

I actually noticed this myself on my swim jammers I used to wear. I was shocked when I noticed it, and no one ever said anything. A good thing for everyone to check the mirror now and then.

I've let riders know when their bike clothes were more revealing than intended, whether through normal wear or a tear due to an accident. Nothing snarky, unless I know them
. I'd also appreciate if someone let me know that my clothing was revealing something I'd rather be left under cover.

My wife told me my crack and cheeks were showing once. Turned out they'd been showing for a long long time and nobody ever told me. The entire country must have seen my rear end and nobody thought they'd notify me of that. So, I usually tell someone if I see too much.

Yes, and I have. Guy picked a color that when you start out is okay but once the sun comes up and you get a bit of a sweat going they became translucent. You could see everything, front and back. After telling him about the issue he wore them again the following week.
