I've been doing hill repeats this week again. I had a moment of idiocy after feeling good at the top. Remember that rocky scene when he runs up the stairs and is ecstatic? Well i got to the top, whipped out my phone and sent a text message to a couple of road nazis to tell them i am ready to ride with them. Last rides I had done, they nearly killed me but insisted I should ride with them again and to let them know if and when i wanted to. I'm a bit scared now that the adrenaline has gone.

Hey pCad, I have a question.
I own a business. It pays well when there is work, allows me to have nice things. But, I basically work alone. Have been doing the same thing for around 30 years. I took a second job at a store. It is part time, pays just above minimum. I did it to make a few extra bucks, but mostly to do something different, and be around people. I actually really like this job. But now, I find it hard to do my main job. What should I do? Signed, Torn between two incomes...... |

Yeah, the responsible financial thing to do. My heart isn't into it. 30 years of the same f-ing thing. I'm tired. That, and there just isn't the loyalty there anymore. Today's businesses are run by bean counters, not people. So I work my ass off to satisfy the companies , they respond by going to the next guy that can do it cheaper. Never mind that they will get crap work from them and come running back. This is a new thing in just the last few years. Pride in my work drove me just as much as the money. Now the companies don't want good work, they want work done cheap. They tell me to cut corners. It sucks. Oh well, time to suck it up......

So I'm watching that link that Gomer posted for the live feed of the oil well. They get the pipe cut off. Now they are just showing the cap hanging in the water. PUT THE DAMNED THING ON ALREADY!!!!
But really, they were so concerned with gettting a clean cut so they could put a seal on that is like a hose washer. That is why they didn't use the shears to do it. The saw got stuck, so they ended up using the shears anyway. Why didn't they cut it higher and put a tapered seal that went over the outside? The cut wouldn't have mattered then. |

Hey Tulex,
I bet you can earn better money if you make underwater ROVs. |

I don't need to watch that stupid video to experience a massive blowout. I only need to toe the line at my next bicycle race.
