Yea I just didn't go to the test after the race. I did it after the TT but not the other two stages. Honestly, they should do it before the damned race. After the race I'm thinking about changing + recovering. Eff roll out. Doesn't really matter though, I know I was running junior gears (50*14) and I accomplished my goals in the RR, I'm not so results oriented at a race like this.

mzeffex 06-06-10 08:19 PM

Is it still a 15 second penalty if you weren't running junior gears? :innocent:

I'd assume not, but hey.

Considering I didn't go to roll out, they really wouldn't have known that if I was running normal gears. But I raced the 4s, not the juniors and there was only one other junior in the race. I don't care, I just feel like an idiottt. Honestly though, 99% of the race you don't even realize the gears, it is just like one or two fast descents.

It's not so much that I would miss the gears, but rather the cost of having to buy a smaller DA chainring and whatever cassette I would need. They cost a lot.

1) Don't buy DA cassettes unless you like wasting money.
2) If you don't want to buy anything new, just block out some gears w/ your limit screws. I've raced 3/4 and masters/juniors combined crits like this and it didn't hold me back at all.

Yup. ^ My parents won't let me race as their opinion is "race what you (I) can [afford to] replace" which in my case would be a beater off of cl....

Chainring, I wouldn't buy a DA cassette. I have a 7800 crank so I want the chainring that goes with it. Those are $90 at cost. I could block out the cassette I guess.

I can race, I'm the one concerned about racing what I can't afford to replace.

Yea DA rings are worth it, good rings can effect shift quality a lot.

You two are both weenies, just get out and race :P

Well the problem would be if my entire bike got trashed - to me at least, that's not a small chunk of money...

Yea, but you bought a bike to ride it, and most group rides are just as dangerous if not more dangerous than races. Just my opinion, but it's a tool not a jewel, better to use it than to "save it."

STFO, Im not fat . Mostly.

Shut The Frig Off? Is that like the DWH well? Maybe we should contact BP's engineers to see if they could come up with some kind of cap for this loose Frig, especially since it needs to be shut off....

Didn't lose any time for missing roll out. Sweet. 14th on the stage, 32/67 overall. Not awful considering my TT placed me at 61st.
