last year i had a hamstring tendon strain or maybe it was tendonitis. very unpleasant and now I recognise it I am worried. I've got one of those heat wraps on the knee right now but I'm not sure if it is heat or ice I should be using. websites seem to say both so whatever. Ibuprofen cream is nice though.

jumped into an A ride today in north carolina. I think they were nice and waited for me. I now hate hills. I also hate my garmin for not charging last night. I also hate my KMC master link for snapping open. and I hate my lungs for not breathing properly. I also hate that I'll be going home in 2 days and won't have a chance to hate hills again for a long time. i love this stupid sport.

Good God I felt great today.

Souls were crushed, children cried and I didn't get dropped.

It's alarmed us for some time now.

But what do you care.

i don't know why people on this site think freds n road nazis don't get on. I'm riding with 2 road nazis and a Tri-geek tomorrow. I'm the fred.

My dog likes cats, but on occasion he just decides to make them suffer.

Yaniel 06-19-10 09:58 AM

I also like riding here because Im not worried about being on the wheel of a person riding zipp 808's or a di2 rear derailleur or a limited edition dogma. My bike also doesn't feel like a hunk of junk out here, it actually fits in. Miami sucks. I also hate my 53/39 25-12. I asked myself, why would you ever need anything more? I'm just glad i didn't get that 21-11 like i wanted or i would've done a lot of walking today.

coasting 06-19-10 09:59 AM

i'm in north carolina. I've climbed more this week that I have in that past 6 months combined, and sadly I haven't even seen a mountain on my bike this trip.

Hey coasting,

If you want to impress your American cycling companion strike up a conversation about the recent near miss with college sports conference realignment. Discuss how, despite all the brouhaha with the PAC 10 and Big 10, the SEC remains the NCAA's premiere conference. Mention how you think Tennessee will return to glory in a couple years.

He'll be amazed you know so much way across the pond.

coasting 06-19-10 11:18 AM

what did you just say?

It made no sense to me but sure sounded saucy, you animal!

patentcad 06-19-10 11:42 AM

116 miles. 7500' of climbing. The Park Ridge Ride in the middle. Felt good on the PR Ride, spent much of the ride at the front animating it or chasing, just missed the move a mile from the end where Kenny L. launched (he's one of the fastest Cat 2's in NJ, one of the leaders in the NJ TT Cup Series), but almost did get the wheel, finished in the second group maybe 5 seconds back. Not too much pain today, a little tweak in my upper back @ the end. Good ride.

That was my token 'century' for 2010. I do it once a year to demonstrate to myself how utterly pointless it is.

Mission accomplished.

If that's all you want why not do a metric century and save time?

Never mind. Just babble soccer idiocy and see how much he tolerates before he can't take it any more and drops you.

Huh? I didn't realize Charlotte was all that hilly.

I'm out on the Casa CAD deck, enjoying the scenic vista and the warm breezes as the Mets/Yankees game audio wafts in from the TV in the kitchen. 116 miles in my bike weenie legs.

Man, if it gets better than this, I'll never find out about it, my life is too pathetic.

This was an organized, supported, casual group ride, right? Not a race, so why "animate" anything?

heckler 06-19-10 01:31 PM

pcad...state RR championship today. I think I finished top 15 (3 man break stuck till the end). Where does that put me on the fred-----> Road nazi scale of this thread?

Why would you care?

If you were a True Road Nazi, you wouldn't be caught dead on this Fred, er um I mean thread.

The Park Ridge Ride is a fast group ride comprised of Road Nazis and Freds, they turn up the gas enough to de-Fred the ride by the time you're on the last 10 miles, it's essentially a pick up road race. I ride down from here and incorporate that 25 mile ride into my longer 80-110 mile ride.
