Huh?
More importantly, do you find that you bash your wrists/forearms on the K-Wings when you're hammering in the drops? It's a more pronounced problem now that I dropped my bars. Irritating. |
I saw a cyclist even crazier than me today.
I was driving parallel to the interstate, facing traffic when I see a cyclist coming the other way. Well, due to the concrete barriers I couldn't actually see a bicycle, but I assume he was on one unless he was on a motorcyle going real slowly along the edge with no helmet and a backpack on his back. I've ridden some crazy places, but never on the interstate. Thanks to the interstate layout we have thousands of 18-wheelers blowing through here every day. |

Nope, I love my Kwings. Three road bikes, three sets of deep drop Kwings. They work for me.
I tend to agree on the K-Wings. They've been excellent til now. The tops are super comfortable. Maybe it's time to move away from the deep drop ergo bend. Back to the trusty Deda 215 shallows. Or fork over the $$ for the shallow K-Wings. At the end of the day, it's all unnecessary mental ************. |

this is a disturbing direction this thread is heading.

i'm going to bring this thread back on topic...unnecessary purchases.
I'm thinking of getting a replacement cycle computer for the one I lost which was a cheapo wireless one from the supermarket which served me very well. Now I want one that does heart rate, altimeter, cadence and I notice the Blackburn Delphi is so much cheaper than Polar. What am I missing? |

I made this up just to prevent this thread tempting pcad into saying too much about his "personal" habits with his right hand. not really. I am really looking at computers. |

Looks good, except for the tall stack of spacers. Why not flip the stem up and remove some of those?

The tall spacers are because the 56 frame size is borderline small for me in some ways. Very long legs, shorter torso. At any rate, this set up fits me like a glove. I like that look better than the angled stem with fewer spacers.
Hey look, this is BF. If I remove the spacers and turn the stem upside down to appease the spacer nazis, half the morons here will say 'flip it'. This way if I want to get the handlebars higher in the future, I have some fork steerer tube left to play with. There's more than one kind of ************, and this thread addresses many of them. |
mention ************ and razor shows up. who'da thunk it.

Pcad, I took 9th at my state RR championship. What was your best placing ?

It's freaking amazing how slight, counter-intuitive adjustments can improve comfort. I always have some back pain after riding, usually lower back. After dropping a spacer and 150 miles this weekend, no back pain. Doesn't make sense, but I'll take it. |

my spiffy new fork removed a weight weenie disappointing 8 oz. Ok, more than that was stupidly optimistic. I need a cheeseburger.
