I'd rather party like it's 1991 - it's that time...

Meanwhile, I saw my second bizarre cycling sight of the day (the first being an apparent cyclist on the interstate).

This time I saw two adolescents riding down the sidewalk. No big deal. Except one of them had a rope on his bike and was towing a couch on rollers.

There's something about the first day of summer that's bringing the crazies out.

That's funny. It reminds me of when we stayed at a campground in Florida that was part of a gated community. Everyone there had golf carts that were made into something. One guy had turned his into a giant lounge chair. I have no idea how he drove it, but it had no steering wheel.

iOS 4 now has spell check across all programs. I can now post from my iPhone without my poor spelling making me look like a moran.

Hey pCad, is it possible to like alcohol a whole lot and not be an alcoholic? I really like beer. Not cheap American or Canadian beer, but good micros. At times, I have around 30 different kinds of beer in my beer fridge. Is this a bad thing? I have so many beers at times, I can't remember which ones I like, so I have to keep trying them. Should I be concerned?

It's not the spelling mistakes that are making you look like a moron.

An old friend of mine, a wine store owner, once imparted this wisdom upon me, "there's a lot of good stuff out there - it's just easier to remember what you didn't like." I'm sure that this applies to beer, too.

Heh, oh well. I'm pumped for the race. And my last minute planned wheelbuild won't happen. I forgot I should have more than $20 for my vacation.

Don't worry about it, wheels won't hold you back.

The proposed build was 36 hole deep Vs. Hah.

Very smart/practical of you. Smarter than my dumbass which wasted $$ on ksyrium elites. Get a pt hub for that build and then you're really onto something.

Tulex 06-21-10 08:29 PM

I thought it was maroons.

It's because I'm rebuilding my deep v 'cross wheel set to be 10 speed compatible. It will then be a road/cross/touring/anything wheelset. It currently has a nice (but old) 6 speed freewheel hub on it.

By the way, Ksyriums are on my list of things to purchase. Do you not like them?

I found this ridiculously funny. I think I'm really tired.

you forgot. go usa.

I think I should hook up some mountain bike shifters to the top of my drops. That way I can shift from a comfortable upright position. For example, during a race when I'm off the front I can just sit up and cruise, and shift. Opinions?

If you get ksyriums, get Ksyrium Sls, not Elites. The Elites aren't anything special. But I would think a xr300 set with quality hubs is a better purchase.

Hmm, okay. I don't know that I could get the SLs though. They cost a lot more.. I might go custom though. I've built the wheels on my cross and mountain bikes. I hate doing it, but the result is good.

Some people have had good luck with the elites, but I'm unimpressed. They fall out of true pretty easy and just aren't anything special. See what psimet would quote you for xr300 rims w/ quality hubs. Simple build, but it could be very stiff and just as light as the ksyriums.

FWIW, my rear ksyrium is getting replaced by a psimet pt wheel in the next few weeks and the front will follow sometime over the summer.
