it truely was a nasty day. i felt like stopping round about 100 miles because 100 is good enough and they put the nastiest hill at that point. what a way to finish. like telling all the participants to get stuffed and thank you for coming. I tried to not walk but when the whole hill was a stream of walkers, why not. Everyone still on the bike was being cheered up the hill followed by the inevitable groan as he or she gave up. i did get back on just before the photographer at the top took his snapshot though.

I got the whirleys standing in the bike shop after the ride today. I think I got a bit dehydrated. I was utter toast at the end of that ride.

The last time I got those was from pounding beers.

Another 350+ mile week. Looking forward to riding in Greece.

Unsolicited Facebook comment from a pal of mine:

Ben Liaw
Pete, great seeing you on the ride today. However, because of your very frail frame, I could not draft off of you. I might as well be drafting behind your seatpost. Put on some weight.

When the wind wistles through your rib cage , will you still be to fat for this sport?

A planted comment if there ever was one.

My wife is a teacher, she corrects me all the time. I have to take it out on someone.

The decline of the written language is depressing. And that coming from somebody that spells as poorly as me is saying something.

I could give a fark about anything in cycling as long as I'm the skinniest guy in the room.

Not yet. But soon.

And of course, it depends who's in the room. But at the pool party with my neighbors today it was not really a big problem.

Did the party kind of end, after you took off your shirt?

No pics of the Addict with the Zipps, in honor of page 404?
(Jeebuz, how did this subject [I use the term loosely] stretch to 404 pages?)

Were you prancing around your shirtless svelteness at the pool party? At 52, that could be embarrassing for the younger guys.

What does your wife think?

My wife thinks I'm the hottest guy she's ever been married to.

Hey, it was a pool party. I spent half the time in the pool. I thought it better to lose the shirt.
