Hey VV, I think you are being called out on your picture. I think you need a more bike related one, like the kids.

I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,

To know that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.
How's that for going over the junior Freds' heads?

Tulex 07-01-10 01:08 PM

And why is forum not allowed? Wait, it is, fix your avi title while you are at it.

Velo Vol 07-01-10 01:09 PM

I find it somewhat satisfying that my picture might be confused for that of a high school student.

Tulex 07-01-10 01:10 PM

Or is it Bikeforums that isn't allowed?

Velo Vol 07-01-10 01:14 PM

Ask the censors. It's supposed to be "BikeForums", but this site is so idiotic that it won't allow its own name to be used.

KiddSisko 07-01-10 02:43 PM

I have issues with this thread, as a matter of both principle and substance.

There's an implied facepalm with every post here.

No need to be redundant.

As a newcomer, here are my superbly insightful observations about Addiction.

Substance is often lacking, but it works on the entertainment level. There is occasional witty banter. For the most part, folks here can form a cohesive, coherent thought and then translate that thought into words. There are obvious and glaring exceptions. Add some collective bike knowledge, and Addiction ain't so bad. While this thread often includes stupid nonsense, it pales in comparison to the stupid nonsensical vomitous spewed throughout the 41.

It's like Facebook for Bike Weenies.

I conclude with one final thought. Chorus shifts like butter.

do these shorts fit OK?

Enough said.

heckler 07-01-10 04:06 PM

pcad, is ordering myself a race cut XL jersey a good idea or a stupid idea? what size is your brauer outfit? And as a related question...should a skinsuit even be available in XL and above?

Questions are in general but if your kit is voler it even more applicable.

as an aside the garmin software (and most others) track year to date totals. What is your average speed?

My year (since I bought the 305 in the spring) is 1100 miles with an average of 18.6 mph ;)

Verge race cut Large doesn't fit me, and it doesn't matter how skinny I get. Too tight across the chest and particularly the shoulders. Verge sport cut fits me. Now my pal who is my height but a smaller build, when he gets skinny, his Verge sport cut jersey is really hanging off him (too big). Not me. I really can't wear race cut. Varies from person to person.

i'm not sure how much substance can be expected from a non-racing cycling banter thread. Imagine just getting together for coffee with some fellow group ride members. What is there to say that is about cycling? We might have some interesting experience after a ride, a new purchase, an amusing anecdote and a lot of the conversation is going to be about totally irrelevant things.

coasting 07-01-10 04:13 PM

look at the different way i approached this post and how pcad did. need i say more?

Hardly.

If I see you @ Heathrow, I will smack you at that time.

how many viewers of this thread are there?

I will subpoena every single one of you as witnesses to the trial of pcad for assault. Premeditation.

Essentially correct, but my issues with this thread remain. It's not at the level of the stained chamois thread, but close.

KiddSisko 07-01-10 04:18 PM

Can't believe the Do these shorts fit? thread vanished.

Velo Vol 07-01-10 04:18 PM

Looks like we have sbxx1985's approval; I guess I can continue posting.

Hey Pcad,

When are you going to Greece? Will you be travel "blogging" about your experiences?

Velo Vol 07-01-10 04:20 PM

Oh dear: KiddSisko, on the other hand, might not be on board.

What do we do now?

Like the stained chamois thread, you're a marked man.
