Good point about recovery. My improvement has been noticeable every week. Even though they wait, on most occasions they aren't stopped just spinning easily until I catch up and unlike previous weeks I'm not wiped out at the top of the steepest hills needing to rest so I can shift up and push ahead. I give it 3 weeks before I'm right with them.

Velo Vol 06-20-10 10:44 AM

I'm not bedridden.

coasting 06-20-10 10:45 AM

ouch. this is how you treat a man in agony?

coasting 06-20-10 10:48 AM

hey velo

i think i got that college football line wrong. he gave me a dirty look and then moved the topic on to his colonoscopy, just like pcad in this thread.

Velo Vol 06-20-10 10:50 AM

Either you botched my talking points or he is a clueless sports fan like Pcad.

coasting 06-20-10 10:53 AM

i think i got the acronyms wrong

Good Nyack today, although I forgot about Housatonic Hills, so a bunch of the big guns were absent. Better for me. I had three goals:

• To not crash
• To make to the base of Hook Mtn (final climb) with the bunch
• To not be DFL going up Hook

Accomplished all three. Felt better than I thought it would, dropped a couple of guys I can't stay with when I'm in bad shape and hung with a couple of guys who are pretty fit up that final climb. Happy with all of that. Average speed for the entire 47 miles on the Ptap was 21.2, but that included 10 miles before and after the ride that were at 17-18, my guess is the Nyack Ride portion had to average 22-23 today.

unless you are bedridden, you didn't ride hard enough.

Incorrect, particularly considering this was after 116 miles and 7500' of climbing the day before.

The stupid Joule ate my Ptap file. If you don't save it right, it does that. That's annoying.

Velo Vol 06-20-10 11:58 AM

Oh no. What do we do now?

Let's do what BP would do. We can go yachting.

Never had that issue with my Garmin. Though, I don't have a ptap, so that might be why.

So when you lose the Garmin, can you employ its GPS feature to find it?

Herbie53 06-20-10 02:00 PM

I pushed a wrong button on my Garmin and it went into sleep mode after ignoring about 10 miles of my ride today. I suppose I should have noticed before the screen went blank.

coasting 06-20-10 02:01 PM

my legs r my computer

Herbie53 06-20-10 02:03 PM

I rode the TT bike with some rode bike burdened former friends. They hate me now.

I think Garmin had one coming out that had a phone in it, don't know if it ever came out. That one you could call to find. Don't think it was for bike though.

Newsflash to all you Fred Idiots: you want to climb better? Lose 5 lbs. You want to climb much better? Lose 15. Think of all the effort I could save those stupid Bicycling Magazine writers with all those moronic 'Climb Better in 2 Weeks!' articles.

That is all.

Should have gotten your clown ass to Housatonic. It was hell...in a good way.

Pcad, your friend with the lightweights (Alan?) made it last time. you should car pool with him this time down to my neck of the woods.

Yeah, I was incorrect, there was Housatonic and the Big Boys were there. Better for your Uncle Pcad.

Tulex 06-20-10 02:49 PM

Hey pCad, you going to put up with this pClown crap in the 33? Get over there and defend your manhood.
