Meh, they're just blowing through here. Just had one go through - pretty intense wind, rain, lightning for a few minutes. Then it moved on.

1650 over 35 miles is a lot? I always thought flordia was flat like souther jersey, but my ride today (while considered rolling for my area) was 1350 for 35 miles. If you never hit that you must be in super flats ville.

My normal 35 mile ride going over the only hill here a few times gets me 200 ft.

The last time I was in for a medical procedure (OK, a colonoscopy) the monitor alarm kept going off because my HR was too low.

I am looking forward to my next colonoscopy by the way. I haven't had drugs that good since the 70's.

coasting 06-20-10 06:41 AM

we were talking about colonoscopy on today's ride. Then they beat me up and now I am bed ridden. I don't think I'm a very good rider right now.

I went to sleep at 7 pm last night. Then got up for an hour or so around midnight, and went back to sleep. Now I go to work. Yay.

What happened to the good old themes about drinking whiskey, cheating on women, having women cheat on you, being a boy named Sue?

I put it to the savants of the BF Brain Trust.

Bedridden from a bicycle ride? I've never heard of such a thing.

it's true. my legs feel like lead. They have no strength in them at all and I've been lying here watching the football since I got back.

coasting 06-20-10 10:10 AM

i knew I would be dropped like a sack of potatoes on every hard climb and if my companions are waiting for me on these or easing off after climbs, I went to the front at most other times and pushed the pace so I never got a chance to ease up.

Remember, recovery is just as important as training. If your buds are waiting for you, they must believe that with some work you will be riding with them at some point. Keep at it.

If you're working to keep up on the hills, that certainly makes sense.

Or, they felt sorry for him and would feel guilty leaving him alone in the ditch to die.
