Well that sucks. Got home from Oregon today, shot home, kitted up, and hit the street. 5 miles in I got a Charlie horse in my right guad, OH EFF ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I worked it for a while and it started to loosen up. Then the other side lit up. Cripes! I cant even walk right now. This blows. I guess I should do a longer warm up after a week long absence from riding.

It was almost bearable until the cramp started to pull my knee cap, jeebus that hurt. I had to push it back down and rub the muscle with my elbow to get it to stop.
I might be wrong but I think I may be just a tad dehydrated.

I've actually never had that happen on a bike. I would probably just tip over.

At a couple of points, that actually started to sound like a good idea.

That's gonna eat into your Madone fund.

I spent a week riding a rented Madone 4.x (4.5 or 4.7... had ultegra and a triple). It was at best, tremendously average.

Really, how so?

I'm saving up for the Specialized Crux Expert Carbon. That's a mouthful.

I had to resist a great deal on a Fox fork for this.

Resistance is futile.

Didn't dampen vibration all that well, not very light, and even with my limited power output I could make the rear brake rub when climbing if I didn't open it up. I think maybe the paired spoke wheels were wimpy.

Had a chance to ride a 5.2 on the same vacation that belonged to a guy I met on a ride. Very different animal - probably 3 lbs lighter, way more responsive and didn't buzz on rough pavement. Razor should save his coin for one of those.

Tulex 07-19-10 08:50 PM

Razor, you been drinking?
