Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I inflated tires after punctures in Greece half a dozen times with one of these:

Takes some elbow grease to get up to 60 lbs (that's all you really need to keep riding). It really is fine. The Lezyne delivers 2-3x the air volume. Works great.

Either pump beats the crap out of lugging around a full sized pump. Can't carry CO2 carts on the plane, so a micro pump will have to serve, and it does.

I had my yearly physical two weeks ago. I told my doctor that I was healthier than last year and there was no need to draw blood or bring out the rubber glove. He took my blood pressure and heart rate, pushed on my stomach, and sent me on my way. Five minutes max. It was delightful. Worth every cent of the $10 co-pay.

Even with the conversion, none of those results mean anything to me.

Bikes: Have two wheels

I have this pump on my bike now (I have ancient equipment) and it's easy enough to pump.

But, when I replace it, I'm going to try the Lezyne. They even come in purdy colors.

I have learned from a very unreliable source that the 2011 Cervelo colors suck.

Cervelo make great bikes, but man they are Fugly.

Except for my 2009 S2 of course.

I think it's rather handsome. Much like myself.

Very true, so there still is hope.

While I hate to say it, I fear the last good S2 color scheme was in 2009. I had a chance to get a 2009 56 closeout from Excel in June and blew it. Too much hang wringing. Eff me.

Bikes: Ones with 2 wheels...

Carrot is a good add. Additional sweetness...

I add it to some of the hot sauces I make, but never thought to add it to a smoothie. Why did you choose the carrot?

Why not just shove the pointy end of the carrot into your eye and get it over with.

My smoothie:

Vanilla ice cream

Whole milk

Kahlua

Chocolate syrup

Whipped cream.

Blend first 3, drizzle syrup around inside of glass, fill, top with whipped cream.

The finest hot sauce in the world. Marie Sharp's from Belize. Carrot based.
