Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

In other news, if you have a compact with an 11-28 and need more for your local climbs, you should just throw in the towel and get a triple.

Elitist, I know.

If I was truly going for fredliness, I would have made up a comment about how I kept up with the local hammerfest ride on my commuter bike with a backpack on while all the cat3s got dropped.

You know Pcad bears a lot of culpability for the corruption of the word Fred here.

Odd, because he's generally careful with his word usage.

If the annual salary for the majority of ProTour riders is $47k, I've decided not to race professionally.

Furthermore, one cannot compare ProTour riders and boxers.

You're a complete and utter meathead moron if you find pleasure in beating the crap out of someone to the point that they give up or cannot physically continue. It is fun to watch, but daily brain swelling seems unnecessary for the sake of sport.

i might even heckle from the back when they describe some interesting local history.
