Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Whoa.

If I had one of those, would I need a walker to get to it?

My business partner is about to pull the trigger on a Litespeed Archon. After listening to his incessant chatter the last few weeks, he has somehow decided that this is the best carbon bike for under $3K.

Any suggestions for complete carbon bikes under $3K?

Start a new thread. I'm not sure that we've had one on that topic today.

I told him he should use BF as a resource on the Litespeed. Then I see his thread. Certainly not the most articulate or innovative question ever, but I wasn't consulted. He got flamed, in typical BF fashion.

Time to buy him out and go solo. Will he sell you his interest in the business for a race bike?

Yeah, he will soon be useless to the company, posting all day about how many miles he rides on it.

Maybe it would have helped to include more than "I'm competitive" as a clue as to what he is looking for.

Agreed. He got defensive when I told him his thread deserved a good BF Flaming.

Strange to write this as he talks to his wife in my office.

If I'm reading the same thread, some people can't help but prove a point.

I wouldn't have started this company if I had to do it solo. I like the team concept.

He's a marathoner. Hopes to qualify for Boston this year. Why people do that to their bodies, I don't understand.

Sell him your S2.

Or not. I'd be a little jealous.

Both Alberto and Andy are very likable kids, I don't think Alberto has a bad bone in his body, ditto for Andy. Somewhat refreshing after TdF champs like Lance who were more barracuda-like.

I really don't know who to root for. I like Andy. And I've come to admire Alberto's demeanor and personality. He really put up with a lot of crap from Lance and Johann last year. I wouldn't have been as nice about it as he was. Please note that he is smart enough now to only say glowing and nice things about Lance in the media. He's not so dumb.

The fact that Alberto and Andy get along so well is refreshing for such fierce on the bike rivals. Makes the sport warmer and fuzzier. It sure could use some of that.

I don't think they treated him too badly in that thread. I've seen worse.
