Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I remember riding into town when I was a kid on a full moon around midnight. No lights, didn't need them.

I think riding the trainer over their graves would be more fitting, and make sure it's a cheap loud one to interfere with that whole "rest in peace" idea.

I am so bored. I wish I was allowed to go to some concert in DC with some friends for one an 18th b day party...

The 2 classic movies from my senior year were Porky's and Fast Times at Ridgemont High.

What do you have to offer from your senior year?

Oh, like I can remember back that far. As if. Maybe 'Jaws'. I graduated HS in 1975 when I was 17.

Your reply to that quote seems so wrong.

Jaws wasn't as funny as Porky's

I had a beer bottle thrown at me tonight while riding... I gave the ******** a two fingered salute. Of course seeing that thing come at me scared the shlit out of me inside, but whatever.... maybe no more night time riding for me.

Due to personal and family circumstances, I haven't done much internetting except when I have to google some software development questions. I am surprised this thread is still here active on the front page as if time never moves on BF. I have been off the net that my wife and children maintained my facebook to play farmville and I have amassed 80 more friends mostly for farmvilling -- Nice to see that you are now at 40K posts PCAD.

I have kept up pedaling though and thanks to WR's advice improved my FTP some. I am building up a Surly cargo bike (Big Dummy) and will attempt to set it up with some older SRM cranks! Will post pics when it is done. My friend LFOAB who was in the Feb issue of bicycling magazine turned me on to it but it is taking a while to get everything together

No new schwagg whatsoever except for a used Kreitler roller and when done the Surly. Yeah I would tap an Addict. I would like one with those mega-size stems

Hey Gomer, does the fact that I will pass 7K miles for 2010 sometime next week make you realize that your quest to top my mileage totals is almost as pointless as BF itself?

Well, there's the problem right there. That's not hard to solve.

You need a Slush Fund.
