Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I've already surpassed 100 miles for the week, with one more ride to go.

The miles fly by when you ride fast.

True!

We needed a truck... it had to be diesel and pull stuff. So I had to buy one and I refuse to make payments. 16K could buy a lot of bikes.

I also upped my 401-k

I just spun, and guess what, nada. I don't feel like staying up another 15 minutes to lose again. You know, they could at least do like slot machines and make it close.

Maybe it is only because I could compare Rochester to philly and nyc, but between all the B&L, kodak, etc moving out it seemed like a kinda dead city to me. Of course the school was great and I really enjoyed my time there.

I'm bored.

Maybe I should try night cycling, like coasting?

I put the over/under on becoming roadkill at 50 minutes.

Saturday nights around these parts mean dozens and dozens of teenagers racing their daddies Porsche's up and down the back roads while under the influence of their best friend Jack Daniels.

No tail light's going to help save you from these demons.

Not gonna happen to me. I was about 130 lbs (5'9") in high school.

Hell, I just got up. Time to ride.

I don't know what I weigh, but I'm close to my goal. Whatever that is.

I can't get a rise out of any of you idiots anymore. That either means I'm losing my touch or this place is too mature for me. Probably the latter.

That's a frightening thought right there.

Message on my facebook from what I missed out on last night. :[

YEAH, YOU BEST FROWNIE-FACE.
This, was a firetruck.
A HUGE FIRETRUCK, LIKE, ONE OF THOSE REALLY LONG ONES THAT TAKES TWO PEOPLE TO DRIVE. THAT ***** HAS TWO STEERING WHEELS. IT'S THAT BIG OF A FIRETRUCK.

and you missed it.

There was hookers, and the band even sang a song just for us. Also a hobo gave Henry a hug. And we all got free churros.

way to go.

I think you suck sometimes.

On a bike, I'm pretty sure I'd crush your soul. In fact, I'm pretty sure my wife would do the same. She trains harder than anyone I've ever met. But no need to be boastful.

Time to ride.
