Hey coasting,

Here's a tip that may be helpful to you someday in the distant future:

Is that the store in Austin? My road nazi riding buddy comes from there. I thought everyone and everything from texas is meant to be huge. He's a skinny roadie who climbs like a mountain goat.

coasting 07-23-10 03:20 AM

can someone suggest a good excuse for bailing out on a ride? the weather forecast has turned bad.

Ziltoid 07-23-10 03:36 AM

Losers make excuses, you might as well tell them you're a fat pansy and wussed out.

What's your point?

patentcad 07-23-10 07:08 AM

I ride my bike. The rest of my pathetic life takes care of itself.

And this place remains a total friggin Idiotfest.

coasting 07-23-10 07:10 AM

does your tooth hurt again or something? pcad has been like a bear with a sore head last couple days or decades.

I feel great. I'm going on vacation soon.

coasting 07-23-10 07:12 AM

when are you off?

He's always off.

Correct.

But my flight leaves August 5th. Nothing like 10+ hours in a coach airplane seat to cramp your legs. No worries. By August 6th I'll be floating in a pool overlooking the Mediterranean.

mzeffex 07-23-10 07:40 AM

It's hot as f here today.

No riding for me.

98 + humid. Feels like 103.

I'll be in Turkey so I'll make sure to wave from the other side....and flip you the bird as is often the custom when you look to Greece from Turkey.

Oh and did you still have the Ksyriums you were going to sell?

Perfect. I was in Turkey once. It's a rather amazing country in many respects.

My kind of weather. Not so hot here today. 80º, cloudy, I think it will be on and off rain today. Kind of nice riding weather for my short 30 miler this AM. I'll do 90+ miles tomorrow.

mzeffex 07-23-10 07:46 AM

I want to go MTBing today, but I know if I call up the one guy I know who does and he agrees.. we'll be in this ridiculous heat for 4+ hours and 40+ miles off road. Too much.

patentcad 07-23-10 07:49 AM

Anything over 2 hours in the woods starts becoming a death march, particularly if you crash 3x in the last 40 minutes, as I did on my last epic MTB outing. Then I had to ride 17 miles home. It was like 2+ hours on the road with a 3+ hour MTB ride in the middle. Hot day. I felt like I had run the NY Marathon while getting body checked by the NY Rangers.

mzeffex 07-23-10 07:55 AM

That's only because you lack the skills that I call "upright". I could bike to go mountain biking, it's like 10 miles.. but then I'd have to be outside and that's no fun.

Quel 07-23-10 08:01 AM

I'm about to sell my mountain bike to make some space in the apartment and offset some of the price of the tri bike that's coming in. I've had that bike for 10 years, but it's too much of a pain in the ass to get out of the city to go MTB. Accotink is probably the closest decent riding, and it's still a good 15 miles by highway, more by back roads.

patentcad 07-23-10 08:03 AM

They pulled my 'let's all be enemies' parody thread after like 3 minutes.

Sigh.

You can't have fun on this stupid forum anymore.

Accotink + Wakefield.

10 miles by bike from my house in Alexandria.
