Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Please do a breif search before posting a thread

Please do a brief search before posting a thread
- Even if you are new
- Even if you are lazy
- Even if the search function exists

And yes I know similar threads have been posted.

This has been a PSA from kindablue to make an effort to reduce the overwhelming prevalence of face palms on BF.

----
Now the real irony would be if I'm repeating a recent post

With the poor functioning of this site's search function lately, I stopped blaming people for repeating a topic unless another thread on the same topic was on the front page at that time.

I suspect the whole thread is meant to be ironic.
A comedic interlude between the 100 000 'What pedals are you using?' threads.

Part of a forum is to discuss new information but part of it is a social event. There are only so many questions you can ask about a freaking bike. This ain't rocket science.

This is a little like having a party and then telling people that they can only discuss things that have never been discussed before. No one would show up.

If people didn't repeat topics over and over on these boards, there would be no new threads. Get over it.

This. Although FWIW, Google is quite good at searching the forums.

To the OP, you or I are not here long enough to be a condescending A-hole. Leave to the people who are good at it on here. No names mentioned.

Double edged sword. If one does a search, they get chastised for reviving an old thread. If they don't, they get face palmed.

do a search before making a thread about doing a search. you think you're the first one to think about this?

The search function blows on this board. Used to work well.

So at 212 posts you want to run the board? Pcad doesn't even get to run the board.... and he is funny, sometimes.

The OP may not have been here long enough but he fits right in and is a fast learner.

OP: Come to think of it, reading the title before entering a thread would eliminate the terrible disappointment you feel when you find yourself seeing the same topic repeated. Of course, you'd rarely click on a thread ever again, but that's fine with me. Answering the same question every week is why I have such a high post count. I hear there are some nice benefits and schwag awards if you pass Pcad in post count.
