Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Cable Housing only

I am looking to replace my black housing with some red housing to make me faster

I am running campy 10speed and want to keep the campy cables i have (near new). So all i need is housing. For the life of me i can't find a place that sells just the housing (thats not in a 25 foot roll).

Any suggestions where to find it? Also any brand recommendations to go with campy?

thanks

I am not familiar with Campy (a Shimano fan, don't hate). I did see Jagwire housing on Ebay. I am not sure if Campy uses a different diameter cable. I hope this helps.

You'll need new cables eventually, right?

What's wrong with a 25-foot roll?

I will need new cables eventually - but i will want campy cables not Jagwire or any other brand. Campy makes any color housing you want as long as you want black.

25 foot roll is a bit excessive since i would need one roll for brakes and one for derailers. I might change my mind on color in the next 17 years...

Whatever you buy, you might as well pick up new inner cables too. At $1.50 a pop for stainless cables, it seems silly to risk getting a frayed cable when you try to re-use the old ones.

Well, i still need to know a place that sells Housing only. It is a waste for me to buy the full Jagwire or any other Cable & Housing kit since they dont work as well with Campy as Campy cables. So i have my set of campy cables, and even a spare... now i need red housing - anyone know where i can get this in less that a 25 foot roll?

Where do you find stainless steel cables for $1.50? All that gets you around here is generic galvanized or other crap that tarnishes.
