Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Ahh, It's gonna be a great day. That simple comment referenced so much history that I had a genuine LOL roflmaoooooooooo moment.

BTW I never commented in that historical thread, but my personal opinion is that if it was a mfr defect during the mfr process, the frame should have been warrantied - even though it was purchased second-hand. If WR would have been in a crash due to that defect, he would have a good case of liability against Trek regardless that it was 2nd hand.

So there the threaded part is glued in to opening then the bb is threaded into it? If thats the case then the there doesn't need to be much area to glue it on too because the bb bearings should let the cranks rotate freely

Both sides are in there. At some point I flipped the frame over and started shooting. They both look the same, just flaked epoxy. No cracks.

No, I'm thinking about selling it with full disclosure.

Correct about the photos. Regarding the Madone, I'm done with it.

Yeah, that's just a flake.

The term is 'bait', like this:

I'd have had better light for the photos, but I recently changed all my extension cord storage to coiled, and I couldn't get any of them untangled in time for the photo shoot.

This is why I didn't post this in the 33. I was hoping you wouldn't call me out for only breaking it loose.

Even though it's second hand, maybe you can work something out with Trek. Maybe a discount on a new frame?

That sounds about right.

I agree. WR should just contact Trek about it. I'm sure they will help him out, even though it isn't the original owner. They seem like nice guys.

Better idea. Who here wants to buy it and work out the non-original-owner warranty with Trek? I'm taking bids.

Nah, this is a carbon fiber frame, so we need to go high-tech with the repair. Use fiber reinforced strapping tape instead.

Oh, for a minute there I thought you were talking about a frame getting damaged.

Remember, folks: water rockets don't work unless they're topped off with a lot of air.

this didn't get damaged. this is a manufacturing flaw. trek should stand by their product.

Am i right, waterrocket?

You are not being "nieve." However, were you to believe that x-bar (the sample mean) were to equal mu (the true population mean), then you would be naïve.

You just need to ***** loudly enough on Twitter/Facebook/internets that they decide it's better to make it a positive story than a "treks break" trend.

Coiled: big mistake.
