I used to work with carbon... in the performance sailing crowd, actually. I'd say it's fixable.
Pity it's not a 56 or 57; I'd be interested.

I'm sure the fork is worth something, and I don't have any bikes that would fit it.

Just wedge some bamboo shims in there and you'll be good to go.
But seriously (probably mentioned in the original thread), doesn't Calfee do CF repairs even on non-Calfee bikes? Even if all you got out of it was a really nice rain bike, it be worth a few dollars to get it back in working order.

Hell, everybody knows between duct tape, crazy glue and ty-wraps you can fix anything.

This is a pro frame. A pro frame is not designed to last forever if it's to be raced. That's why the warranty does not include racing. Therefore, if you cannot afford to replace your broken raced pro frame, follow this old racing adage...
"Race what you can replace."
Or become a good enough rider that someone will pay for your stuff and give you a salary. Or get into the bike business so you can buy new stuff at prices lower than what people buy used stuff for.
Life is not this hard folks.
Warranty coverage does not include racing or secondary ownership. It's called "assumption of risk."

At least we agree that this Trek Madone wasn't durable.

today i was stopped at some lights and another rider pulls up next to me. He looked critically at me and my bike, turned up his nose and then gave me the stare ahead. when i said "hi, a bit cold isn't it" he looked at me briefly and then back to the stare ahead. then the lights changed and he sprinted off.
He rode a Madone. Another Madone failure? By the way, he was fatter than me.

Two possible reasons for his reaction: Did you forget to shave your legs and Did you forget to match your socks to your bike frame color?
