Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I didn't wave back to you partly because I saw no reason to provoke some dude who clearly felt superior to me just because you were riding faster than me on cheaper equipment.

But now that I realize how I've scarred you emotinally, I'll make sure I never ride hard or long, and I'll stay off public roads when recovering from injuries or surgery. Otherwise, I might not have enough left to prove myself to some amped up guy who's 20 years younger than me.

I'd say Carlin's list would be a good start: ****, piss, ****, ****, **********, mother****er, tits.

Edit: Who knew you could say piss and tits?

I wave at all other cyclists. The ones who don't wave back are simply too busy pretending to be hardcore to wave back. I figure they're not having as much fun as me. So that's their problem.

The problem is you're focusing on the things in life that don't really matter. When I was a kid I had hopes and dreams. We all did. But over time, the daily grind gets in the way and you miss the things that really matter, even though they are right in front of you, staring you in the face. I think the next time you should ask yourself "Am I on the right track here?". I don't mean to be rude but people like you I really pity. So maybe you could use the few brain cells you have and take advantage of the knowledge I have given you now. Good luck.

I'm an old guy on a bike. Any biker waves at me gets a knuckle sandwich. No exceptions. Except the ladies.

Man, it's been so long since we've had a good "to wave or not to wave" thread. I forgot how much fun they are.

/ Campy rules.

/ Brooks sucks.

/ Steel is real.

/ CF explodes.

I suppose I'll just take my bike to the nearest junkyard and see how much they'll give me for the scrap metal

When I am driving, I wave to every car that's going the other way.

Come to think of it, in my career, I wave to everyone on the other side who are going up whilst I am going down...

BTW I wave to ANY cyclist I see, unless I am going down a nasty curvy downhill and I want both hands on the bars.
The words you can't say on BF are ####,#### and ###### thats it.
