Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Wanted to go check out a hill...and yeah, I hate it. But I will be back again and again and again to try and get better at it.

I've been wanting to try a 10,000' hill repeat workout all year and succeeded a few days ago. Granted it was snail speed, but happy none the less :-) 10,400', 44 miles (only recorded ascent data).

Just connect it to your computer and sign up at connect.garmin.com. There will be a button at the top right after you log in to upload your rides.

One of our last big training rides before Leadville. This is my wife and I on our tandem.

https://connect.garmin.com/activity/41687413

Notice my HR spikes during the start of the ride, a 12-mile descent. Either my HR battery is close to dead, I was too dry to provide a good connection, or it had something to do with jersey flapping?

Tonight's club ride. No tailgate , but some of the gang went to the local DQ afterwards. Somehow, I was able to resist the temptation.

Great ride! I've been thinking of trying 4 gap sometime this year. What did you use for gearing?

50/34 compact with a 12-27. I'm a bigger guy at 208lbs, so I for sure used all that I had gear wise, especiialy on the top of middlebury. I don't think that even if I had a 28 cog I'd be able to make it up Lincoln tho.
