Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Sorry if this isn't the correct place to post this, but I have seen an Edge 500 with cadence and HRM on ebay for Au$280 and was wondering if this is a good buy. It is in the Garmin colours and has only been used 3 times (or so).

Lunchtime hammerfest. Pretty windy, a bit of light sprinkles, and some big hammers out today. I was a nail.

We had that same wind today, too. It sure made the trip returning back home a blast, though!

Nice quick Turkey day ride. I did the ride ten minutes faster and averaged 20 watts higher than the last time I timed it in August. Woohoo!!!!

First cold ride of the year. Started at 42º and ended at 37º. Don't know how Garmin found the nearly 61º -- it never reached 45º outside today. Perhaps it was from being in the house, and it takes a few minutes to stabilize to outdoor temp. ??

Yes.

It's probably more accurate with the sensor, though. Definitely more instantaneous. Plus cadence.

First big hill ride for me. Absolutely beautiful scenery in parts ... I really wish I had a camera. Bike was a rental and while decent wasn't well fitting so I took things fairly easy.

https://connect.garmin.com/activity/58250006

Oh, and the temp readings are crap - I didn't have a mount on the rental so I had to stick the garmin in the pocket on my back. It was freaking cold on skyline rd.
