I sent an email to Psimet for a quote recently, and I'm looking forward to hearing back from him, but out of curiousity sake, how are the SRAM S80's (durability, etc.), beyond the small weight addition over the Zipp counterparts?

Yeah, they're just Zipp wheels with no dimples, a simplified carbon fiber layup to save labour (but makes the rims heavier), and a heavier hub.
Edit: Testrider did the FP60 and S40, but these should give a good idea of the quality of the wheels.

There was a group buy here a while ago for Checkmate Cycling wheels. They had tubulars/clinchers for 600-700 dollars. Weight was about 1290 for the 20mm or about 14xx for the 40 (?) mm wheels. However, I think it has folded.... Sigh...

I wouldn't be looking for carbon at over 200lbs, but that's the luxury of good genes, I guess (and by good I'm still a giant fat ass for a cyclist)

So, after watching the review videos, this question came to mind (please bare with me because I'm a newbie tech wise, admittedly, when it comes to wheels). What would be good carbon aero wheel for crit racing? You'll probably want to spend more to get the weight down for accelerating out of corners, correct? So that probably means spending more, I would think.
Edit: Nevermind, I just relistened, and the said they liked the SRAM S40 for crit type riding. Good stuff. Carry on.
