Does this look alright? (Orbea on CL)
check out this CL ad if you don't mind. https://lubbock.craigslist.org/bik/1786731960.html
i can't make out what model this is and the owner doesn't know. It looks to me like he took a frame (and color that i can't seem to find either) with the original fork and replaced lots of parts.
i can't find ANY orbea model that combines any of the mavic ma3 wheels, the hutchinson tires, tiagra hub, and 105 shifters, derailleurs, etc.
please help me figure out if i'm getting a good deal! he said he took it to the shop and they told him a fair asking price would be 800, but he's gonna take 500 from me cause he says he just wants to get rid of it as he doesn't ride road (the bike was given to him as payment from a friend)
thanks!

Take a look in person. Really don't think it's an 08/09, however.
$750, like in the ad, is too much. $500, however, seems like a good price for a decent frame and some quality parts. Give it a lift and see how much wear and tear the components have.

yeah, i think i may take it by our lbs and see what they think about it. i'm really not crazy about the color, but 500 bucks for a 105 equipped (for the most part) bike like this is pretty decent.
may wait it out for something i really want though.

the fact that he doesn't know how to spell "pedals" is suspicious. i've received several emails from scammers responding to wanted/for sale ads and they also use a lot of CAPS to emphasize. i would keep on looking

thank you all for the help. i ended up not getting it. went and test rode it and wasn't completely impressed, not to mention it was a bit long for me.
i think the guy thought i was just trying to bring down the price point, as he got a bit short with me after i told him i wasn't gonna buy it. hahaha. his last words...
"good luck finding a $300 road bike!"
awesome. glad i didn't buy from you, guy.
