Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

New Jersey in NJ

I am headed to Fair Lawn NJ tomorrow for work, and will be spending the week there. I was thinking of picking up a couple of jersey's while in town. The selection around here isn't that great, and I'm reluctant to order a jersey online, and have to go through the hassle of sending it back across the border. Does anyone have any recommendations on good bike shops in the area of Fair Lawn? Preferably some place with a large selection of Jersey's.

Wheelfine Imports in Lambertville NJ has a very interesting collection of jerseys that are hard to find elsewhere. It seems like the place is part bike shop, part museum. I've never seen the owner put anything on sale there, and he holds on to stuff forever. It really is like a trip down "memory lane" if you've been in the sport for a while. Unfortunately it will be about an hour and a half / 75 miles from Fair Lawn. If you can go down there and take your bike with you, there's some great riding in the area.

Lambertville is in the Fairlawn area like the Tour of the Catskills is a NY area race.

Which was basically stated in the next to last sentence of my post.

Michael at Wheelfine is a hoot. I've had him follow me out of the door several times talking to me. Beautiful area to ride, but REALLY far from Fairlawn.

Michael is a good guy. His shop is one of the most unique ones that I've ever seen.
