Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

2011 Specialized Road Bikes

After seeing a link for a 2011 Tarmac and wondering if there was a link for a 2011 Amira, I took the time and figured out all the road model links.

Allez

Amira

Dolce

Langster

Roubaix

Ruby

Secteur

Shiv

Tarmac

Transition

The Shiv is $5500 and looks so sweet. I can dream.

They're going to update the site in a few days, with all the correct specs. I suggest you just wait.

Ordered my SL3 the other day. Should be in this week. FYI, frames are available now while complete bikes will be in late August.

Bikes: 2009 Specialized Allez

I have been wanting an orange bike for a while. I may have to buy the Roubaix purely for this reason.

I do too, but would not ride a bike with someone else's name on it unless they gave it to me. Also the Spartacus head is too much. The Schleck one s pretty cool too though. I wonder how shiny it is in person...

The new Tarmacs look miles better than the 2010s, in my opinion!! I'm so happy we're past last year's god awful paint schemes.

Yeah, I should have included the SL3 as the sole exception. The Pro, Expert, Comp and Elite though... yuck!

Not a fan of the Expert but several teammates have Pros and they are nice too.

Ive seen it in person and it's not too bad. More of just a silver paint than a gloss.

I heard it's supposed to look like a steel bike. Does that seem right?

So the "pro" model is now using the sl3 mold? That is a change from last year, correct?

Yup, looks more like steel. Saw the Schleck, Contodor and Cancellara all up close. All look AMAZING, but not worth the price hike IMO.

Bikes: 2010 Tarmac Expert

Elite and Comp level are now FACT IS as opposed to triple monocoque. Nice change for the budget models.

Why are the Comp models with Rival and Ultegra considered lower than the Elite with Apex?

Anyway the new Comp w/ Rival looks very nice compared to last years.

I prefer Tarmacs but I like the stealth colour scheme on the new Roubaix.

Apparently, Specialized didn't want anybody sneaking a peek just yet...those links no longer work.
