Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Where is the personal attack? You quoted me and said "Yeah, thats from the noobs who don't know better..."

I simply pointed out to you that I am far from a noob. Post counts don't make a rider. You are a cat whatever racer, good for you. You have 29,000 post, good for you.

Because somebody has less than 100-250 post, does that make them less of a bike rider? NO! it makes him/her someone who doesn't post alot.

You called me a geek for posting a lot. I didn't call anyone a noob, just speaking generically. Keep in mind I've posted over 5 years, and never said anything about the quality of the rider as a relation to post count.

I also haven't distinguish between forum noobs and cycling noobs. Flame me all you want, but you just are wasting your breath, I am only explaining what the mod decision was and the reasoning behind it.

For the record, I was in favor of a beginners sub-forum on a trial basis but had the same concerns that have been voiced by others here.

Edit: you may want to look more carefully at my post count, i only have just shy of 26000, not the 29000 you keep on claiming. And so what?

The point was that you were making derisive comments about other posters.

Are you an only child??

You have an amazingly well developed 'savior' complex ......

This is not my area, but I am gonna shut this thread down for a while, at least until one of the mods that knows more about this forum shows up. Thanks, have happy thoughts for a while.

And I'll chime in now. I hadn't seen this thread. We had considered a beginners road forum several times and each time, decided it would serve to fracture the forums too much and not serve the purpose intended. I'll leave this thread closed.
