Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Here's the CAAD10-1 I just built up the other day. Still need to chop the steerer [photoshop'd out] crimp on some cable ends and make minor adjustments. This is intended to be my all-weather training and crit bike.

CAAD10-1 frameset 54cm
2011 SRAM Red groupset
Fulcrum Racing Zero Dark Label wheelset
Selle Italia SLR Kit Carbonio Flow saddle
3T bars, stem, seatpost
LOOK Keo Blade Ti pedals

Now that is one killer looking bike. I would also like to know a weight, if you have that information.

New problem on my Caad, to review bike came to the shop in good shape but without a chain, now i know many of you think the shop should have one on hand ,they don't.The shop got the chain yesterday and when they put it on they found a problem with the small chainring. The problem being that about six or so teeth were ground to a sharp edge from the inside of the ring. They called Cdale,Cdale told them to call FSA and they did.FSA asked for a picture of the ring which shop sent to them.FSA said thats not right we will send a new one.Anyhow i just wanted to vent a little and i 'am thank full my guys are catching this before it rolls out.

Love the bike. I dont know how people ride with their bars in this position though. seems like it would be hard on the arms.

Bikes: (2) CAAD 10's

THS, white saddle and tape looks sharp on that frame. I'll be doing the same on my blk/raw.

After seeing the photoshop results, I definitely think I'll switch over to a white saddle and tape. The photoshop results made it look pretty dang great.

White saddle and tape would look pretty darn clean on the black/raw on the 2013s.

Yea I bought it off Craigslist, and the guy had the stem flipped up, and all the way at the top. I have another forum member giving me his lower stack headset cover, so im going to wait for that so I can cut it all off.
This thing is a superb ride.

Eh, I had high hopes for the read seatpost/stem, but I'm not sure about it.

All the cycling gear I purchased was had at deep discounts, including the blue Oakley's and Garmin bottles. If I would've know I would have been purchasing a white/red bike I might have held off on the bottles and definitely would've gone with the red Oakley's. The riding jacket I got (last one at my dealer) is blue/black as well... All my jerseys and bib shorts are different mixes of red, white, and black. So when I'm riding, my glasses, bottles, and occasional jacket stick out like a soar thumb.

I dont like the red stem/seatpost combo. I think it looks cheesy, but thats just me. I prefer a classic black clean look

Thanks for the compliments. I don't have a scale handy, so I'm not sure on the weight, but I'd guess it's sub 16lbs. The Rotundo/classic style bars do take some getting used to if you only ride with modern style bars that have the flat transition from ramp to hood. It's really not bad though, and the shape seems to give you a lot of variation for styles of hand placement. I have another bike with classic bars, so I am pretty used to it. The 'modern stlye' with a flat transition is definitely comfy [I have ENVE compact bars on bike #1 that I absolutely love], but sloped ramps give you a lower hood height with higher flats for when you really need to sit up and beg. I do think the bars would look a lot better with a -17deg stem though.

Agreed. I think the biggest problem beyond pure preference is matching the red on the frame with the red components. Many try this kind of thing and it just looks bad if the colors don't match perfectly.

Welome Luca. Americans are the same way - no carbon equals no good but we love our CAAD10's.

Thanks yeah that's what I wanted, alas, it looks ****ing terrible. I guess I'll stick to all black cockpit because I absolutely hate white bartape. I may have to get a red chain

For those wondering, I have the silver/red Ksyrium SL wheelset to match the crank which was in improvement over the stock black aksiums: style and substance (I climb 90% of the time).
