Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Yes it does. It feels like a rocket surging with every pedal stroke when doing climbing stands!

..but who knows, that could still be the new bike thing.
Nah, it's not going to go away

It's going to look really nice once you get the rear wheel installed. You carry a lot on your rides, but I guess to much is better than not enough.

I take it you're one that doesn't like to have things in the jersey pockets.

I have not really found a jersey i like yet so i have these Tees fro Dick's at $15 a piece...I saw a nice long sleeve jersey at Performance bike yesterday for the cooler days... Right now i am not really looking for tees though, Shorts and bike parts and accesories is what i wanted 1st...

Man, that gumwall tires made your CAAD10 like it was made for spring classics. Nice one!

Just picked up my first road bike and first CAAD ever. Thanks to everyone that helped me with the choice. Still have to get it fit and change the stem.

Im going in for a fitting on my CAAD in a few days and I talked to one of the fitters earlier today. I'm about 99% sure I will have to have something done to my stem. If it has to get swapped out what is the typical cost? The fitter said it would an additional minimum $35 (depending on which stem we pick) on top of the fitting cost. Is that a pretty typical cost?

A stem can run $20 to $200 or more so kind of depends on what they have in mind. However, that seems okay or maybe a bit high if they are putting on one like this one which was the original stem. If they put some leftover piece of junk from their parts drawer on I would expect it to be included in the fit as they will likely toss your old stem in there for the next person.

Aww, I kind of like the green stickers. Nice to see something other than your standard black/red/white combo.

It all depends how light you want to go. $35 would be heavier, $100+ would be lighter. I think I paid around $85 for my first 3T Arx Team Stealth and just picked up a second for $60.

I vacationed with my family near Lake Cumberland, Kentucky over the weekend. It was a little difficult to find roads to ride - it pretty much went straight from highway to gravel back roads in the rural area I was in. I did manage to find a 19 mile ride in the Daniel Boone National Forest. Only saw one car the whole ride

For a northwest Ohioan (read: flatlander) like me the hills were a challenge, but I really enjoyed the opportunity to ride there and I snapped a pic at this overlook.
