Minimal drop. Lots of people like to have the tops of the bars level with the saddle. Having the drops higher (so the forearms are flatter when in a tuck) is actually more aerodynamic than an "aggressive" drop (straighter arms).

The slight upward tilt on the drops themselves isn't unusual either. The key thing is the tips of his brake levers are in line with the flats of his drops. I personally don't think this bike breaks any HrN conventions (though some will be militant about the flopped stem).

^This. I have made some adjustments since I took this photo. I realized this is a month old since there are no bottle cages on the bike. As mentioned I moved some parts from my previous Cannondale and it's still a work in progress. I won't be flipping the stem but one with a slight rise is the plan. Proper fit for ME is kind of important.

Thanks for the input. New photos will be posted with changes and adjustments.

Interesting read, although in hindsight, it all seems obvious. I guess I'm trying to hard to look like this guy in the drops. :innocent:

That's a great deal.

The even better deal was the Force Racing for $1750, but since this is my first road bike (and I'm only a recreational/fitness rider) I didn't want to go overboard. I figured a Rival would be enough bike for me to enjoy and not outgrow for a while. But that pricetag on the Force made it very difficult to exercise restraint when I placed my order ;)

Here is my race machine. It was 14 lb 6 oz with Mavic Ksyrium SL's, Vittoria Pro Slicks, and no pedals. Not sure what the weight is now with Dura Ace 6800 pedals and Zipp 404 tubulars.

Amazing what you can get these bikes down to.

With a shallow(er) drop bar you could have the hoods and drops at the same height they are at now while having a flatter stem and a flatter transition from ramps to hoods.

i guess this goes here.

pretty clever to go with the raw Thomson stem and seatpost, I have not seen that done before. if you had black spokes and chainrings it wouldn't look as nice but because you don't it works.

here's a few close ups of that.. tried to be purposeful as i liked the contrast of silver and black without going all over the place.

New CAAD 10 owner here. New 7900 shifters and front derailleur. I moved the RD and crank from previous bike before deciding on a BB30 specific crank. So far it's a blast. A new wheel set is on the want list.

I believe it's a 2012. Got from ebay 4 months ago and that is what the seller stated.

littlealex 09-05-13 08:20 PM

I can't think of many situations where the Ritchey silver bars would be classy, but you have nailed it. I really like the silver hubs as well.

The 2014 team replica looks pretty good IMO. I wouldn't mind owning one. Perhaps the first Cannondale team edition I'd like to own.
