does 2014 caad10 have any change beside internal rear brake cable?

seymour1910 09-06-13 10:45 AM

sure is a change in prices...whew

Leinster 09-06-13 11:16 AM

How big is the price hop? Only pricetag I can find online for 2014s is in the UK.

according to a C'dale dealer local to me, the 10-5 went up almost $200 from last year. I know most shops sale for less than MSRP, but last years MSRP for the 10-5 was $1750.

Yow, that is a jump. Any spec change to go with that? Happy I picked my 2013 up yesterday for $1100; Sounds like I pretty much got it for half price.

Thats correct, msrp is $1750. I paid $1500 out the door from my lbs. And to answer the above question, the only noticeable difference is there is now a rear internal brake cable.

I like this thread so much, very helpful ..thanks all
I just ordered Caad10 in matt black, price was just over 1600euro. I thought it was good deal but not sure, as not many
have this in stock yet, especially in england..I should have it in just over a week :)

I can't think of many situations where the Ritchey silver bars would be classy, but you have nailed it. I really like the silver hubs as well.

thanks THS, that means a lot. i was hard pressed to find another set of handlebars that would match up as well.. the combination just works and i find the bars rather comfy too.

glad you like it!

Great choice mate - be sure to post up a few pics when you pick her up. What gruppo did you get it with?

Passed the 4,500Km milestone on my Berzerker Green rig the other day, so put on a pair of 'dale C-Cages to celebrate - they work well. I also fitted some Conti GP4000s 25mm tyres and they do roll a smidgen smoother than the 23mm, so we'll see whether I can get 3,800Km+ puncture free out of this pair!

Hey guys. I've been watching this thread for a while and had been looking for a CAAD10 for my first road bike as an upgrade to the old hybrid I had.

I am just under 6ft and so had been looking for a 56cm model, and was also looking used so they would be cheaper.

After a lot of looking I found one. When I got there it turned out it was a 54cm model, and for some stupid reason I got it anyway. If I'd known it was a 54 before hand I wouldn't have even considered it.

Can I make this work? Or should I honestly just sell it straight away and keep looking for the 56cm model?

Thanks

Maybe only you can answer this, i`m 54cm and 5`8" but i do know people your height riding 54cm but its
very aggresive position, maybe perfect if your planning to racing.

I just picked mine up today. Still need to install clipless pedals though

RS11's how are those? I like the green on them, nice touch.

Where are you? The store I picked mine up on Thursday, I got the last 54, but they had a few 56s left. That was in Berkeley California if that's any use to you.

I'm 5'10 and considered getting a 52. Surely the shop you bought from gave you a fitting of some sort? If not, maybe it's worthwhile taking it to another store and paying to have the fit done. If they say it can't be done, return the bike.

I think you'll probably be fine, but it all depends on your dimensions.

Here's a pretty decent fit calculator, but if you already have the bike, I guess just ask yourself if you feel comfortable.

I'm 6' on the dot and ride a 56, but can easily get on a 54, the seat is just a slightly higher.

I got my 2013 for $1100 at REI, and they threw in about $6-800 (depending on your eBay search terms) worth of Shimano, fsa, Tektro, Schwalbe etc gear with.

Thought i would post a pic of my CAAD10 out on yesterday's Build up ride 1 for the Dubai 92km competitive in december. We did 32km in 55:30mins average of 34.1km/h. Burj Khalifa tallest tower in the world is in the background. Stock 2013 CAAD10 5 105 with 105 pedals, and Conti 4000s tyres. I want new wheels. This is normally asked all over the place and time and time again - but if i had a set of Archetype wheels with Chris King r45 hubs, would i noticeably feel faster and would my time have improved? is it actually worth spending the money as my next purchase for my CAAD10?

Yeah I've tried that calculator before. It says I should have a 57, so that's why I look for 56s.

What length stem do you use on your 56? Mine has the standard 100mm one (I think) so I guess I should get a longer one.

You can't go wrong with a good set of wheels. I'm not familiar with those, but I've heard good things about Archetypes rims and Chris King hubs...I'm sure someone here will have better advice. Also, riding in Dubai sounds like fun. Probably a completely different experience to what I'm used to.

I have a 110 on mine although I didn't mind the 100, just felt a little too upright. If you're feeling slightly cramped, a seatpost with some setback and 120mm stem would probably help stretch things out a bit.
