I'm looking to buy a new 2014 CAAD10 105. Do you guys think it's worth it to shell out an extra $600 for the Ultegra. The new Ultegra 6800 groupset is nice. Money isn't really an issue but saving an extra $600 would be nice. OR if i were to shell out that much, go for the new EVO 105 that is the same price as CAAD10 Ultegra? choices..choices..can't decide.
One thing i did ask cannondale is the internal rear brake cable, there answer was, It was not modified for Di2, it was for better brake performance and smoother lines. There focus is still a lightweight performance alternative to Carbon. The Caad10 105 and Evo 105 are great bikes, for me it just came down to the colour i liked and hopefully not having to upgrade for a while |

From what I can remember, the BB-to-saddle height on my bikes is 72.5 cm (I have an inseam of 82 cm). Subtracting the seat tube length (50 cm - from the Cannondale website) and the saddle-to-rail height (4 cm) gives 18.5 cm of exposed seatpost up to the clamp. I'm currently out of town on business, I'll try to measure it physically when I get home.
They're Ritchey Carbon Classic bars. I've just set them up as compact bars while looking for a good deal on Ritchey Logic Carbon bars. I was originally looking for a 54 when I first bought the bike (my old TCR size M/L has a TT of 55.5 cm, the CAAD10 54 is 56 cm). I was running a 100 cm stem on the TCR and it's been my very comfortable workhorse prior to the CAAD10. However the stores that had a 54 didn't have the colorway I liked (the Team Edition). All the stores steered me to the 52 (with the stock 100 cm stem). I thought I could squeeze into a 52, but had the hand numbness after doing longer rides. What did they know of proper (personal) bike fit... Tsk, tsk, tsk.

I think you are right. I am leaning towards getting the stealth black Ultegra over the 105. I think I will end upgrading the 105 immediately anyhow and still be spending a few hundred. Interesting that this new Ultegra has no 'caad 10' lettering anywhere on the body. It just sales "Cannondale" on the bike. It's a nice looking bike for those who prefer a muted bike.

So I picked up my '13 CAAD10 4 Rival yesterday and took it for a ride this morning. I decided to snap a quick shot along the trail. I was so excited to take it out I forgot to remove the dork-disc *facepalm* ... I know I will receive no mercy from the 41, but I'm still thrilled to be riding my first road bike, first Cannondale, and first time clipless :D
https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-I...25282%2529.jpg I got the bike from Just the Right Gear in Salem, VA. They sold the bike for $1300, and they have other great deals on Cannondales. So if anyone is interested in picking up a bike, and you're in the area, I definitely recommend giving them a call. |
Looks Fantastic ,I like that colour scheme. nice wheels, tyres too

Hi, Can anyone tell me which year caad 8 is this? I was planning to buy this bike off CL.. The guy is asking for $900... Do you think this is too much? He say the condition is pretty excellent. I'm going to check it out tomorrow morning.. Also what should I look for when I go check it out? I'm new to road cycling... any suggestions, opinions, etc... are welcome.. and Thanks in advance. |

It's hard for me to tell from that photo. What components are on it? Nine hundred dollars does seem very high.
$900 does seem high especially for older model. I went to sportsbasement, and they are all sold out of CAAD 8. Which I wanted a CAAD 8 because it's suppose to be more comfortable for longer riding.. which I tend to do (about 3 hours every saturday morning).. But anyway, I can get a 10% discount at sportsbasement..but at the same time it'll have to be either a FELT z85 ($1200) or a CAAD 10 105 (roughtly around $1350 or so..).. So I mean, if I can get this as a beginner bike... (assuming there's not much problems with it..) I can save a few hundred... Ahhhhh. I just can't decide... I don't want to over pay or lose money in case I need to sell back in the near future. I will actually be going over to look at it right... now.. so hopefully if anyone can give me any tips, etc.. in the next half hour... that would be really helpful.. Thanks again, |

Nagrom...what are your thoughts on the 14 lineup....I haven't seen you chime in yet on what you think of them. I'm crazy about the 10-4.

The paint is better than last year. Spec is just as good. I'm waiting for a CAAD10 Track.
I still think 2012 was the best year for caads. |

you got yourself a nice bike and the 105 group will be good for much more than one year. don't do a one step upgrade. what I mean by that is don't ride this bike for one year then go get a CAAD10-5, ride this until you can get a significant upgrade. have fun and be safe.

Ya ... all the other kit does add up ... but the #1 rule is always look good while doin it ;)

Got my black Ultegra on the weekend and it's a beauty. Frame looks even more awesome in reality and both the shop and myself got lots of compliments on it even from white-bike-fans. Here's a quite rough snapshot I took with my phone, still need to capture it accordingly with the big cam. http://i.imgur.com/q9wls4Z.jpg?1 The non-black parts are actually red and not pink. |

CAD with Boyd Vitesse wheels. Those wheels makes the bike feel like a brand new bike, superlight and it just feels like the bike wants to be riden fast. Super excited! |

It still says "CAAD10" on the frame but you don't see it from the side. You can see it from the saddle though when looking down so every time you have to stop at traffic lights you can make sure that you are still riding this most awesome frame ;)

Pull those decals off. It will look much better. I have those same wheels on my CAAD10 and the difference is night and day. Doesn't affect the warranty either. |

Wow very nice, better quality pic please to show off red more would be nice....where is the caad10 markings , on the top bar ?
Is the new ultegra group sweet ? Since I only used classic (i.e. quite old) road bikes before I don't have any real comparison for the ultegra group but so far there's nothing to complain about. |
