Has anyone got the 2014 10-4 yet? I don't know why I'm asking other than to torture myself when I see it. I love that bike.

You paid a deposit on a bicycle the shop cannot produce and they're going to keep 25%?

no. out of the 100% cost of the bike, i put a 75% deposit down. the LBS will return the full deposit. they didn't ask for such a large deposit, but i gave it coz i knew that i would spend it.

raatty 11-12-13 06:17 AM

just went to the LBS today. They said that the CAAD10 will definitely come by next friday. will post pics as soon as i get it.

Notgrownup 11-12-13 06:31 AM

this is just the type of blasphemy that i didn't want to solicit... :)
I had actually ruled out the allez after thinking about it and was seriously tempted by the Canyon. If the bike is not here in 10 days then, i am gonna go meditate and make a decision on whether to go Canyon or wait again for CAAD10

Notgrownup 11-12-13 10:41 AM

I am actually contemplating going away from CAAD.. yes i said it... I will try the Synapse, Roubaix and the Scattante...I need a differnt type of geometry, the CAAD is too agressive for me. I have it set up with the bars so high that it looks almost like a Freaking Hybrid..LOL... First road bike in a VERY long time...I like Cannondale but i am not tied to the brand...

NRZ 11-12-13 03:32 PM

I knew a guy who ordered a different bike but because they couldn't source the right Shimano stuff for the build they went and gave him Dura Ace for the same price. Might be worth asking the shop to "upgrade" you and they'll ask the Cannondale rep to help out. Heard of it many times. Good luck!

Notgrownup 11-12-13 03:55 PM

Never know until you ask....

Well I finally joined the cult, picked up my CAAD10 Black Inc today! I'll be honest and say that the whole way up to the bike shop I kept wondering if I was choosing the right bike? I went into this purchase wanting carbon but I couldn't argue with the way the CAAD10 frame rides, it just feels really good compared to every other entry level carbon bike I rode. Plus, the Ultegra Di2 is just amazing to shift! Here's some pictures of her fresh from the store!

Very nice. I wound up with a couple of Black Inc.'s. I did make some changes - switched out Ultegra wheels for Ksyirum Elites, changed cassette to 12-23 and changed seat to Regal. Worked out the adjustments and kinks and the bike was absolutely perfect today.

dvdslw 11-14-13 08:36 PM

Thanks, I love the bike as-is but see some changes coming soon. I found some Reynolds carbon clinchers that would look nice, Selle SLR Saddle, 2013 Easton EC90 Carbon Stem, and EC90 Carbon Post as well because they have a Gold/Black color scheme that matches the bike pretty good. Between all the parts listed, the bike would loose a solid pound and look badass.

New guy to this part of the boards.
I post sometimes in the ss/fg section.

Im looking at picking up my first road bike after selling my cinelli mash. I have always used size 53-54 track frames but have found a few deals on some size 52 caad 9's. I compared the top tubes on the geo chart and its only 1 cm difference between the 52 and 54 caad 9. Do you guys think the bike would feel to small? I know buying new is a better idea because you get fit during the purchase but I have a budget that I have to follow. I only want to spend the money I made from selling the cinelli mash frame and parts.

I myself am picking up a caad10 as well, and like yourself also ride a 53cm track frame (Bianchi Pista), I'm 5'8", LBS fitted me with a 52 caad10 and fit was perfect. To my knowledge caad frames run a bit big so I could've even went with a 50 but to each his own go get fitted personally see for yourself which fits you best.

Thanks, the bike actually came without the wheel reflectors but I removed the dork disk and flipped the stem before snapping the pics. Off to look for shoes and pedals today, should be interesting because I wear a size 14!

Funny thing, I wear a size 14 also. I found a good pair of shoes at Performance in a 48 wide and I've been very happy with them. They fit better than any shoe I've bought over the last several decades. If you have a Performance store nearby, it would be a good idea to check them out.

I should have mentioned that the shoes were Forte', the Performance house brand. Regardless, they are great shoes.

I'd definitely get the Canyon if the Cannondale doesn't arrive when they said it will, and this is coming from a Cannondale owner who has no desire to change any time soon. The Canyon is a great piece of aluminium engineering as well, just not well known on the other side of the pond.

Thanks for the input. the lbs has said that by next week I should have it. Seriously tempted by the canyon as the finishing kit is nice on it as well. Apparantly canyon has distribution issues in the USA.

And the LBS are good guys that service the bike properly while I wait and stuff and they had the guy in charge of stock levels leave blah blah blah so I can't really be mad at them.

Lets see what happens in the next 7 days!!

seymour1910 11-16-13 10:33 AM

looking forward to your new ride raatty. you may have said it on the forum before but are you in Dubai for work or are you from there? I have been there two times with the Navy and really enjoyed it.

seymour1910 11-16-13 11:04 AM

My CAAD brothers, I have decided that I want to put a new group on my CAAD7. I know if I brought this up in the main forum people would say just save the money for a new bike. I do have a nice CAAD10 in my future but I love my CAAD7 and recently came across a Rival group for a great price, it is a new take off group.

I will say this, my CAAD7 is a 2005 and has a mix of 5500/6500 and still performs with no flaws. It has some scratches from age and use but I have no issues shifting or anything, it's still a good group. So this change is really just a want. I also really do want a black group vice the silver comps that are on there now, I know once I get it stripped down I can still get the 9 speed parts sold on ebay.

Tell me what you guy's think. and also, the one question I have with the group is that it comes with everything except the BB. I know they are easy to come by but I don't know enough to know if there is something I should look for when buying one? I know I need a GXP, will I need anything to make it fit my frame?
