I'm thinking of buying a used 2000 cannondale R800 caad4 from my local bike shop for the price of $500. It's in good condition; is it worth it?

Caadsortium,
I'm entertaining the idea of getting a Trek CX bike. Talk some sense into me, please.

Love,
Caadfather

I joined the Cult today. The wife ordered me a 2014 CAAD10 4 for my birthday today while I was at work. I should be picking it up next week. She's a keeper :thumb:.

I seriously typed that reply to your post while I was in my office yesterday, two of my nosey co-workers came in and of course were looking over my shoulder. I swear they both were like, "hey, what's with all the typos, why did you type the letter "A" twice every time, is it your keyboard".

I thought it was so funny, the people here totally got it, but those on the outside are just lost.

THSdrummer 06-28-14 10:33 AM

Yes, please to a track CAAD10! The CAADX would be a better addition to my stable, but I'd really like to get myself a track bike.... not sure why.... Maybe because they are generally cheaper.

I'll go halfsies on a white garage door with you, if I can have it Friday-Sunday.

Ignore the flat rear. I just built this up. I don't feel like this bike is giving up anything to carbon bikes I've owned/ridden.

Both wearing Ultegra6800 groupsets now - one standard crankset and one compact.

If anyone was wondering - 10-speed chainrings (I'm using a DA7900 crankset) work perfectly fine with the new 11-speed - no issues, shift hesitation, noise or reluctance, whatsoever.

Now waiting on the 11-speed freehub for my fulcrum R1s, then they will be fitted to the Berzerker.

cheers

SirHustlerEsq 06-29-14 09:14 AM

Road a 60 mile informal race yesterday with 28 miles of gravel, I should have bought the CAADx sooner. Still, the CAAD10 with a 28 Gator up front and 25 Gator in rear did very well aside from two flats from trying to keep up with bros on CX bikes. 31 out of 75 and on a road bike. :P

Nice man, were they both 5700 before? I don't remember what you had them dressed with before? Did you sell off the old groups?

Is the black matte or glossy? Hard to tell.

This might be the first blue bike I like the looks of.

2015 Cannondale CAAD10 Gets Disc Brakes, Synapse Carbon Lineup Grows & More

Sorta mixed feelings on the CAADX going 100% disc brakes. If I were to pick one up now, I wouldn't be able to swap over my wheels from my road bike with different tires. I have some wheels in the works that will be set up for climbing/road riding, but with a slightly beefier spoke count than I originally wanted just to take them on the dirt/gravel with more confidence.

Team Sarcasm 06-30-14 01:11 PM

That evo is horrid though :p
