That is a pretty good price for your bike, too bad the taxes are so high in Quebec (our son travels up there frequently and did a graduate term. at university, in Montreal, beautiful area.) My price in 2012 was with tax, it was actually a bit over 1700, cannot remember the exact figure, though. I absolutely love my 10 4, it has been completely trouble free and performs wonderfully on all types of road surfaces. It will be my ride for many, many years as good as it is. Hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine.

I'll be honest, I passed this bike by quite a few times just because the Gold didn't really do it for me, but after buying the bike, its growing on me. I bought it in November so its not too old, I just noticed that the gold lettering is either coming off or is chipped from leaning the bike on bike stands. There's only two little chips but the bike still has that new bike look and feel so I'm noticing every little scratch. I checked with Cannondale and the decals/lettering are covered under their warranty for a year so I have some time to see how it goes. I already took acetone to the Cannondale C1 Components to remove the white stripes and lettering which made a huge difference so the Gold might be next???

let me know if acetone or whatever else you do gets that ugly gold stripe off, that thing is the only thing bothering me right now.

I got my bike at the end of December, have about 700 miles on it now, best bike I've ever ridden. Handling is impressive and Di2 is on a whole new level.

Excluding the shoes, I got the bike with free 105c pedals for $1770 tax in. I think I got a good deal considering what they sell for on ebay and money exchange. Like mentioned the taxes are ridiculous up here.

Shimano 105 group. God that was a horrible ebay ad, took forever to figure out wtf the guy was saying...

I would say no more than 700-800. You can get a 2013 105 CAAD10 for about 1100...this guy is on crack trying to tell us that the CAAD9 is magical vs the proven CAAD10(made in china according to him).

PimpMyBike 02-07-14 07:10 AM

+1 ^^ It's worth $900 with shipping. But heck it's ebay. Some fanatic will by it soon enough.

nothing. can't prove it's even a Cdale. nothing in any of the pictures say Cannondale. move along unless you can get proof that it's a real CAAD9.

Yeah I was thinking about 850ish just because shops have caad10s left for around 1400. I do like the blue (A LOT) which is why I have an interest in it :p

But if I did go for it, shipping would be about 100 ish. That's not a real deal killer, doesn't make for a real attractive of a final price relative to a caad10.

That never actually crossed my mind. But I did wonder why its been boxed up for 3-4 years....I can only imagine the "oh look what I found in my garage" moment if it is real.

The seller has sold a lot on eBay and his rating is at 100%. I don’t think he is a fraudulent seller. Just too expensive IMO.

His asking price is what it cost new. I think locally on craigslist somebody would pay in the neighborhood of $700-1000 for it...

Team Sarcasm 02-07-14 02:31 PM

According to the email I got, it sold for 1000$.

qcpmsame 02-07-14 03:57 PM

Not too bad a price, maybe a little high but not excessive. I don't see any reason to think it is a false CAAD, these types of NOS deals show up from time to time on eBay. Enjoy the CAAD9, those are good, well engineered bicycles. Some pictures of the new ride would be a requirement here in the COC thread you realize don't you? Congratulations on scoring the new bicycle. Keep us posted on how things turn out, please.

Hold on a second, I didnt buy it. I would much rather cough up another 500$ for a brand new caad10 (which is going to happen) :D

Having it be brand new, the color I want, and my frame size was pretty hard to not offer 1000, but I would have to pay shipping from all the way across the country. Plus this gives me time to sell my other bikes (alloy synapse and a '79 Schwinn). I definitely wanted it though :(

I am looking to upgrade the Tektro calipers on my CAAD 10-5 to Shimano 105's. In looking online I find calipers with a 49mm drop but I don't know how that is measured. My current calipers measure about 49mm from the underside of the brake arm to the bottom of the flange where the pad mounts. Am I measuring in the correct place and do I need 49mm calipers? Thanks.

phrantic09 02-08-14 09:10 AM

Ok so maybe you guys can help me with a future decision... I currently own a Scott Speedster 40. Sometime in he next year I'd like to pull the trigger on a new bike. I think the Scott is plenty comfortable, but am wondering how the CAAD 10 is compared to say a 2200-2300 cf bike (from a comfort perspective). I'm never going to race and do about 100-150 miles a week with a usual long weekend ride mileage in the 50-75 range. I like the CAAD10 but am afraid I'll regret not getting a cf bike.

SirHustlerEsq 02-08-14 09:17 AM

I have some 5700 brakes I just took off my CAAD10, but don't see any unique numbers that indicate size. Figure out how it's measured and I'll look at it for you.

I should also note that I just replaced these with 6700 calipers and the threaded fitting/nut that goes into the fork didn't fit properly (shank was too long) and I had to use the old threaded fitting.

The 105s will be fine. Some CAAD10 models come with either the Tektro's or 105 brakes.

Brake caliper reach for road bikes has been pretty much standard for a long time. From the bike sage Sheldon Brown:

Quote:

Currently, "short-reach" calipers usually offer a range of 39-49 mm. This has become the de-facto standard for "road" calipers, and can now be considered "normal", though it is also correct to call it "short."

Ok is it just me are my newly built CAAD10 ride better that my 2012Supersix? how could this be? i am just puzzled right now. both bike are equip with hollowgram cranks 53/39 & 11/23cassette use all the wheels i have for both bikes, both bike set up to my retul fit with the same spec both been 58cm frame. ride the supersiX 30mi on saturday & 40mi today on the CAAD10. The CAAD just feels faster and at the same time comfy to me. I am just trying to figure how in the world did Cannondale get an aluminum bike to ride so well. I keep saying to myself while riding the CAAD thats this cant be aluminum. The only difference is that the CAAD is DI2 equip. How did they get aluminum to ride so well?

There's nothing but love for the CAAD10.

Got my CAAD10-2(Force) 2013 setup to race. No way I am racing my di2 bike, that thing is pure sexy. Pic to follow after I swap the brake pads tonight.

I know there's nothing but love ITT, I guess my major question revolved around the CAAD10 vs lower end carbon with respect to road buzz and smoothness- wondered if someone who has owned both could compare. Ex. Madone or F5 or CR1 vs the CAAD10

Clasicomano 02-09-14 05:36 PM

Thought I'd share Elia Viviani's track CAAD10 here, which I came across a few days ago

Not a big fan of Cannondale's green theme in general, but this bike looks classy

Clasicomano 02-09-14 05:39 PM

Also nice to see a pro use a CAAD on the track instead of a more obvious SuperSix
