The brushed aluminum has grown on me for sure. Beautiful bike. The bike would be a tad faster if the blue accents were red* :thumb:

I'm only joking. I am partial to red though.

I love the brushed finish. I have thought about going a similar route with the blue accents, but I am still debating which color since half my bike is black :p

Nicely done :thumb:

Those are both 2012's.

Cannondale colorways got bad lol.

I agree. Hopefully the CAAD11 disc which I'm buying in 10 years does the classic paint design.

Team Sarcasm 03-11-14 10:41 AM

What do you guys think the future of the caads will be?

With the synapse making a name for its self, I think cannondale will merge the caad8 and 10 when they bring out the caad 11(or what ever number) and have two different frames for the same name like the allez with the normal, the e5, and the sworks.

Kinda how what they did to the ss and the sse

I expect the next CAAD bike to get dummed down because at some point Cannondale will realize that people are saving a ton of money with the CAAD10 and would spend more if the performance gap were larger between the CAAD10 and the SS.

THSdrummer 03-11-14 01:59 PM

I sure hope they don't dumb down the CAAD10, but I could see it be a viable business solution. If I catch wind of that, I might have to purchase another CAAD10 just for safe keeping and a spare.

I keep holding onto the delusion that the CAAD10 will adopt a semi-aero downtube. I know it's a long shot, but that could be pretty cool IMO. Only time will tell.

Nagrom_ 03-11-14 02:11 PM

If it got any "aero" tubing I'd defect.

+1. I'm always on the look-out for a cheap CAAD10 frame, just in case. The current design will probably be the high water mark for us; clean and classic lines, affordable, lightweight, fairly durable. I'd like to see us eventually get disc on the current design.

I bought my frame about 40 days ago and I rode a ton of frames, I was really shocked by how good this frame is and how little increase in performance you scored when going up to a $4000 Evo. I wonder if the composite bicycle marketing is strong enough to overcome our realization and Cannondale not take notice that they producing too good of a frame for $1000?

Team Sarcasm 03-11-14 07:04 PM

If I ever get a brush caadx I am getting gum wall tires :D

zooming 03-11-14 07:09 PM

gum walls are a thing of beauty aren't they? shame that there aren't many options though...

Let me derail the thread a bit.......

I looked at the 2014 8 and 10 this morning while picking up some bar tape at the LBS, I like the new routing for the rear brake cable on the 10's and the colourways are pretty nice. I see either a CAAD 11 or even more advanced tubing profiles and maybe some aero (only a little) for the aluminum C'Dales. The Allez with the smartweld technology is giving the CAAD 10 a run for the money, I looked at the Specialized Allez, too. Actually I looked at a lot of bicycles just because I like to look at them any time. My '12, 10 4, is here to stay, only an addition to the garage is in the future, it will be alloy and most likely whatever CAAD XX is out there.
