nice find on the CAAD10 as a replacement for your R900

Dudemanppl,
Nice clean bike. How do you like veloflex tires? I read that they have no puncture shield. Thinking of getting some for my training wheels. |

The Veloflex tyres themselves are fantastic - smooth, comfortable, highly grippy and quick RACE tyres. I've done around 350Km on mine and they do have a few small nicks in the tread surface from stones / glass etc. IMO - definitely NOT a training tyre, as they will wear too quickly and do not offer a whole lot of puncture protection. As raceday tyres - woohooo!!! But, there are other tyres that are better to train on. http://i324.photobucket.com/albums/k...pslz74ley1.jpg http://i324.photobucket.com/albums/k...psvyixwywj.jpg cheers |

My CAAD10 Disc arrived today, picking it up after work. I took a quick snap of it when I stopped by the LBS to get pedals and check out the bike. I'll get some better pics later once I get it home and add my cages (and remove the dork disc and reflectors).
http://i.imgur.com/d680Qpn.jpg Don't plan on any upgrades at the moment but may in the future upgrade to a Rival crankset and will likely change the bar tape and saddle to black at some point. EDIT: Just realized this is my first post here after lurking for almost three years. I could have sworn I had posted before but oh well :) |
Nice ride, I almost bought one of those.

Nice ride. I was looking at the CAAD 10 Disc for a couple months before deciding to go with a Super 6.
I'm sure you'll enjoy it, beautiful bike. |

I'm sure you'll enjoy it, beautiful bike. I went in initially to check out a Synapse Carbon Disc but ended up not liking how it felt. Hopped on a 2014 SuperSix Evo Ultegra and fell in love with the geometry. Of course the SuperSix would be a little more plush on the road, but my LBS shot me such a good deal on the CAAD10 Disc that I jumped at it. I wanted discs and internal cabling more than I wanted carbon but I very nearly bought the SuperSix the day I rode it. Plus saving the couple of hundred between the Six and the CAAD allowed me to buy a roof rack and two bike trays. I don't know why but I was a lot more comfortable on the CAAD/Six than the endurance bikes I rode (Synapse, Giant Defy Advanced, Trek Domane). |
Dunno about disc [personally] but that blue is AMAZING!

Even compared to the Carbon variants, I felt more comfy on the CAAD than any of the above. Made absolutely no sense to me... but whatever... I'm happy |

It's a niche bike that happened to tick all the right boxes for me. And yes the blue is amazing! The pic on Cannondale's site doesn't do it justice. I wish the rest of their lineup had more creative color options (like the Liquigas and Gulf colors of previous CAAD10's). |

So the better pics are gonna have to wait till a nice day, but here's some I snapped just after bringing it home. Didn't bother lining up the valve stems and forgot to put the chain in the big ring but oh well :)
First long ride is planned for this weekend with sunny weather in the 50's, I'll go crazy with the pics then I'm sure. http://i.imgur.com/2FCRkky.jpg http://i.imgur.com/rNdUdpl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/0KDuojM.jpg http://i.imgur.com/6do3zDU.jpg Haven't done any sort of tuning of the cockpit or anything yet, I doubt I'll leave the stem that high for long. |
Wow! That paint scheme is incredible. The soft satin finish light and dark blue just makes me want to run my hands over it and...nevermind

Yeah I like that paint layout and concept. Partly why I bought the CAAD10 I did over the other colorway offered. |
I'm liking the blue. Congratulations on the new CAAD10. Looks like a 56cm, same as mine. Are the fulcrum wheels stock?

Yeah, the Fulcrum's are stock even though Cannondale's site incorrectly lists Maddux RD 2.0's as the wheelset. It's actually a 54cm but I don't think there's too much of a visual difference between the 54 and 56cm. |

Picked up my shiny new CAAD10 5 in San Francisco this weekend, 44cm women's frame. This is from the 30 seconds that it actually stays clean and white (right after I wash it). Sorry about the wall, it was the best I could find in my dorm. Haven't changed anything yet, just added a bottle cage. When the bar tape gets too dirty, I'll replace that and the saddle with black. I took it out for its first spin yesterday (my first century, as well) from UCSB up to Ojai and back. The bottom bracket started creaking really loudly around the 40th mile, so I took it to a shop in Ojai and they straightened it out, told me my LBS up north put it together too tight or something. Everything else is basically perfect, such a smooth ride. And the right size, for once. |

Ground score
http://i.imgur.com/fAqDh6Y.jpg Was like this for about half the ride http://i.imgur.com/LufwjkX.jpg Kinda blurry, but this is after you get high enough, you are riding above the clouds. Pretty cool. http://i.imgur.com/D7FN0GL.jpg At the top of Mt. Ham, at Lick Observatory. Obligatory circle mirror pic You can also kinda see the clouds that I failed at taking a pic of earlier. http://i.imgur.com/aXnAnux.jpg Strava |
You guys think the wider rear triangle makes a difference in stiffness?
And the disc version looks MUCH better than in the pictures. :) |
Just a couple small mods recently. I'm thrilled with how it changed the look of my bike. Swapped ss cages for black and gum walls for black walls. Now I just need time to ride it...
