Mostly SRAM bits and 'merican parts. Nice, stiff, light, and responsive. Racing starts in two days!

Blue CAADs rock.

Just sayin.

And looking at yours has me thinking about swapping on my Cosmic Carbone SLs. Great looking bike.

I positioned my bike perfectly, then tilted the crank a bit down, de-aligned the wheels, painted the garage door off-white and repositioned the sun to create confusing shadows. Voila:

I'm not sure what the second two pics are trying to highlight, but since I took them I feel compelled to use them.

Picked up a CAAD9-5 today at the same shop humboldt did. After I pick up a repair stand tomorrow, let the stripping begin. I plan to sell everything but the frame and throw on a red/force mix. Unfortunately it probably won't be completed until summer :/

[QUOTE]I came very close to getting those DA wheels.
How do you like them? /QUOTE]

I like them fine, although I don't have a broad frame of reference. I've ridden on top-of-the-line tubulars since the mid-70's, so the tubeless tires add another new dimension for me. They are very responsive. They have been on the bike since I bought it a year ago. My son has a CADD 9-5 with the RS-10's and I thought they rode rather dead, so I wanted to do something much livelier on mine. I serviced the hubs recently and everything is beautifully machined. In my limited experience I think they are certainly worth he price.

I just joined this club, and Brian, that's what my new baby looks like!

If you can't find someone to trade with, try dropping the bar down on the fork
(remove spacers, drop, re-install spacers on top of bar) and using a shorter stem.

It took me 7 months to complete mine.
But it was well worth it!

^ That really makes me want to get rid of my Specialized Allez.....but I just built it up in November :( Maybe next year....Ill be done with College by then!
For what I want out of a CAAD10, it would be easier to just buy the frameset....Id want a full Force build, Yishun 50mm clinchers wrapped in michelin pro3 tires, kcnc ti seatpost, merek saddle, etc.

Another gray Caad9. About to turn this into my commuter bike. New bike coming. Yay!

Get a CAAD frame, transfer parts, sell the Spec.
Be happy. Problem solved. :D

Yes Sir, I'm for real. It's one of my Local Dealers. I have my choices down to the CAAD9-4 or a Trek 1.5 for $1,100.00.
I'm really leaning toward the CAAD. He only has one, in a 58 which fits me fine.
It sounds like I SHOULDN'T come off my offer of $1,500.00. AAAAAAAnd I just might need to go a lil lower.

Actually, I should say $1,400.00. Because I told him all I had was $1,500.00, so he would have to either sell it to me for $1,400.00 so I could pay the taxes or he could eat the taxes. SO if I can work dat deal I'm real close to your boy Art. If I can pull this off I'm not getting hurt.

Thanks 4 your help, I really appreciate it
Ab

Two different bikes.

I've owned the 2009 1.5 (which is better than the current 1.5 which is actually the 2009 1.2).
It's a really good bike for what it is (probably the best in it's field). Great for long rides at a quick clip.

If your riding becomes more aggressive (hard acceleration, power bursts, high speed cornering, etc...)
I'd say no matter what, the CAAD would be the better deal even if it costs more in that it can answer the call.

The CAAD9-4 is well worth the <$1,500. you're willing to pay for it.
Of course, there are also CAAD10's to consider.
Today, CAAD9 owners are romantics who want a piece of history. :D
CAAD10 owners are getting the best Cannondale is producing in aluminum.

But, the CAAD9 4 is an EXCELLENT value (for the groupset you get, the frameset, etc...).
It's a very keepable bike with very little upgrade (if any) being needed that can be raced out-the-box.

You really can't lose with a CAAD9 4. I'm by no way a SRAM guy (yet ;) ),
but if I came across a good deal on one when I got my CAAD9 7,
I would've jumped on it.

What you get should depend on how you ride.
More relaxed? Trek.
More aggressive? CAAD.

Good luck and of course, let us know how you rolled.

I have replaced my CAAD9 with a 2011 Allez.

Where is the firing squad?
