I'm not wasting any of my ammo on you!

Knowing that you suffering on that other bike is satisfaction enough for me.

Actually, the 2011 Allez is supposed to be a hot bike.
Very "comfortable" from what I've read. ;)
And you upgraded to a newer bike. No biggie! :thumb:
Enjoy your new ride! Tell us about it in comparison to the CAAD9. :notamused:

(Disclaimer: If you had abandoned a 2011 CAAD10, thennn we would've been like...)

I won this sunday's cat-4 road race on it.

I've changed a few things on it.. longer carbon stem, carbon zero-setback seat-post, Ultegra SL crankset, and some neuvation alloy clinchers.

I like the entry level sram group, even if the brakes are tektro's or whatever. The bike is very stiff and it handles well even if its heavier than the carbon bikes out there.

Here she is...my pride and joy!

2nd Ride on new CAAD

Here she is! This was taken after second ride. First ride went great! Great weather, great ride! Second ride, not so much...High winds and cold temp...Almost got slammed by a car in the middle of the ghetto and dropped bike a few minutes later because of deep mud in sidewalk. Still had a great time though! Love bike and can't wait for Spring!

2011 caad10-5

I can play. Although the picture sucks. It's in the basement on my trainer. Thus the really low light.

Setup is stock with Speedplay Zero's and Lake shoes.

Where are you in Cleveland?

jont3487 03-24-11 04:05 PM

Downtown, by Playhouse Square. Where are you in Cleveland? I see you are here for school. What school/what are you studying? I am going to Cleveland State for pre-Dental. Crazy lady almost hitting me happened on E. 98 and MLK Blvd. Wouldnt recommend riding over there. Where's the best place to ride around town? I like riding out East to Chagrin Falls. Getting tired of crappy weather though

dont feel bad, I have a 2011 Allez w/ Rival. Really nice bike for crits, just like the CAAD9/10.
Thought I always want something more (like a Rossetii haha)

I had to get another frameset when I found that my 58cm CAAD9 was too small for me, and ended up with a 2011 Allez Comp E5 in 61cm. The CAAD9 was more vertically compliant, but the Allez still works fine, and the chainstays are bowed out farther toward the axle, so I don't hit the heels of my size 47 shoes on them. Getting a Synapse Carbon 5 this summer.

I finally officially can join the club...

http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...IMG_0012-1.jpg

Platforms are already gone. I have blue speedplays on it now. Will also have a new wheelset fairly soon - Velocity Deep V build, originally planning on black, but now thinking about electric blue with black spokes to match the pedals. Then I'll probably get matching tape, but for now the white stays.

goose70 03-25-11 07:55 AM

Flip it, then you're in the club ;) (someone had to say it).

Neat. I got my first road bike (a Schwinn) in 4th grade while living in Bay Village. I just drove through there on the way to a funeral a few weeks ago...area hasn't changed much from the 70s.....still very nice, still very cold....too cold for me to ride the CAAD9 down Wolf for old times' sake.

Ya, that's not happening... Did you see my signature? That's enough of a drop right there. Maybe when I'm closer to my goal weight.

goose70 03-25-11 08:38 AM

ahhh....just noticed your sig. You're making great progress. Congrats! My CAAD got me the rest of the way down and I'm sure it will for you, too.:thumb:

DUDE!! Were you on a bike at 425? That's friggin great. On a bike at 345 is impressive enough. You seriously need to post some before and after pics when you are done.

Stick with it! It took serious illness for my father to get on the path to better health in that regard. He chose rowing.

anon` 03-25-11 08:24 PM

I suppose it's high time that I stop lurking around here...

That said... hey look, it's yet another black CAAD10-4, just like every other black CAAD10-4 out there! ;)

https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/_x...0/DSCN4475.JPG

Well, maybe not just like every other one, but pretty darn close. I picked it up last Saturday, but haven't had a white garage door to use as a backdrop until today. I understand that this is some kind of a first-bike-picture requirement. I purposely left the bike exactly as the shop built it for purposes of this photo, and then promptly put a pair of Shimano M-520 pedals on it. Don't hate! I need something to clip into until I can get legitimate road shoes, right? (Oh yeah, this is my first road bike, too.) Haven't had much of an opportunity to ride it yet, what with being in Oregon and all that. But I have big plans. Still need to monkey around a bit with the seat and stem height, but that will come in time.

Actually, the real reason I didn't change anything is because I wanted to write a brief story about why it's cool to support your favourite LBS. (tl;dr synopsis, because everyone here already knows that it's a good idea to do so; I just want to brag a little: support your LBS. Cool things happen if you do.)

I got a pretty stonkin' huge tax refund this year, and thought I'd like it better as a road bike, so I cruised down to one of my two favourite LBSes to see about effectuating such a change. This was on the 26th of February, three days before the one sale this LBS holds every year and which lasts two weeks. Because I was still waiting for my refund, I couldn't buy it just then. But I did put it on reserve for 10% down, and because it was almost March, salesguy gave it to me for the sale price and a 10% discount on anything I bought at the time of delivery, even though that wouldn't happen for at least three weeks. When I did finally take possession, the shop had built the bike with platform pedals, bottles and cages seen in the pic. Not exactly high dollar stuff, but a nice touch nonetheless, as none of it was charged. And on top of all that, the guy who rang up the final sale gave me a discount coupon for my next visit, after I mentioned that I would probably be back soon for clipless pedals and road shoes.

Final tally for what you see in the photo? $1500, plus 10% off anything I decide to buy next time I'm in. I'm pretty happy with that. And the bike, with what little chance I've actually had to ride!

Brogi 03-25-11 10:54 PM

Hey everyone.. looking into buying a CAAD April 16th 'ish but had a few concerns/questions. Please forgive me if my post has been considered elsewhere, I've read nearly half of this thread and haven't really seen anyone address this.. Anyone concerned w/the quality or manufacturing of the famous, American-made Cannondale Aluminum frames being off-shored?? I'm considering finding a CAAD 9 from last year but the sucker in me wants to "keep up with the Jones's" and go for the new shiny 10. Is our CAAD now just another aluminum bike being produced offshore yet still aiming to maintain the higher price point?? I'm new to the sport so forgive my naivete. I suppose I'll do some research regarding the hydroforming process, or whatever it is.

FYI, I'm well aware of the manufacturing of carbon frames being overseas unless you dump out the $5k for an OCLV or the like; however, regarding aluminum, I just always assumed that Cannondale's USA product was far superior.

Have things really changed as much as I assume??

Thanks in advance!
