But ultimately, you made the correct choice!
Now, upgrade to a "camera" and let's see some pics!

So finally get to ride it after buying it for almost two months and only being able to look at it and see the reviews of how great it is, but never being able to ride it.

It was raining in the SF Bay Area the last few weeks, so had to wait the dreadful wait. Was so scared that this week was going to rain also, but the rain finally stopped and the sun came out. Which is absolutely perfect since it's my vacation from work and spring break from school. (: Some times, although seemingly seldom, things do go my way.

My first road bike. So far I love the bike. Tell me what upgrades I should do next. Thanks.

You even have the same seat wedge! I am glad that I have yet to see anyone ride a CAAD10 and in the same color in any of the group rides I have been. This thread sort of skews the reality really far.

By the way, I am visiting SF in a month or so to look at some schools. Do you know what would be a good ride to take down there to see the city? I haven't been to SF yet and was especially interested in seeing the area around UCSF. Can you cross the bridge on a bike?

Did you ever get fit to that bike? It's unusual that the seat and the bars are almost at the same level; the seat is usually about 2-5 inches higher than the bars. Before you did anything else to the bike, a good fit session would be job #1.

If it fits, though, just ignore me. ;)

You could basically ride almost anywhere in SF. I usually ride around the Lake Merced/SFSU/Great Highway area. Great view of the ocean plus bike lanes all around. Many people ride from SF across the Golden Gate bridge to Sausalito. So you can definitely ride across the bridge.

You are probably right. I haven't been fitted yet because the bike shop wants me to ride it a few times first so I can get a feel for it and so on.

Is there a site where I can compare the specs of the different CAADs?

I did 20 miles in an hour & a half on my New CAAD9 yesterday. Might I add, that's the 1st 20 miles I've done on a bike since I was a kid {{{GRIN******

Thanks Much
Ab

NY? Bad humidity. High 70's is bearable. 80? H-h-hot. 90 is bad for us. 100+ is horrible.
(of course, I'm speaking only for myself)

I found a like new CAAD9 frame on Ebay a few weeks ago for less than $400 delivered. I didn't have any components to put on it at the time. I ended up switching groups from one bike to another. I put Ultegra 10sp on the new frame but it didn't do it for me. I then sold my Trek 5900 to finance a new Force group. I just finished building it last night. I was having trouble with the front derailleur until I found out that it needs a bit of slack in the cable. It's working great now. I can't wait to take it for a ride. Now to sell my old CAAD4 to finance some new wheels. Will it ever stop?

The old Ultegra version-

Wow! That Force REALLY brings out the blue on that frame! ;)

Nice! Me like.

Excellent. Nice to have "options" of CAADs. :)

Sweet ride so far!

Gosh the predecessors are hot.

Today, I detailed my CAAD9 and got some really close up looks at it's construction.
It looks deceptively simple when viewed normally, but once one looks closer,
the CAAD frame really is a work of art. Very simple, very purposefully designed.

I can see how they are are evolutions of the first CAD's.

Welcome to The Fam. :)

The CAAD10 in white totally looks like it's a Carbon framet. Very nice indeed.

I have decided to seek some advice from the cult seeing as all or at least most of us are dealing with a cannondale retailer of some sort. Anyway I put down a deposit on my CAAD 10-4 a month ago and still have not received my CAAD, they had told me the bike would arrive on Mar 17 and it is now the 30th and I have nothing to show for it. My question to all of the CAADicts here is do I....

A) Suck it up and wait
B) Go attempt to get my deposit back, tell them why and take my business elsewhere
C) Contact them and request a drop in price due to the wait as well as their lack of customer service
D) Other(suggestion?)

D) Request a refund OR tell them to loan you a bike "risk free" until your CAAD comes in and insist that they get you a C10 ASAP.

I think that's the fairest way to go about it to both parties.
CAAD10's are extremely popular and with every Magazine article that comes out,
they only get more and more desirable. It's part of the price paid for great aluminum.

If you go with my suggestion, let me know how it goes.

SillyRabbit 03-30-11 02:03 PM

I'd probably talk with them and see what the hold up is. If it really is taking too long, and they acknowledge this, I would try and get them to throw something in (maybe a set of pedals or something). Who knows, maybe they will receive it tomorrow...
Just my .02.
