Wheels. I'm dieing to throw on a wheelset on mine, but I'm waiting until we get some nice Spring weather.
What I have coming in now are Planet X Ultralight CNC Brakes w/SwissStop Pads, Dura Ace rings to go on my Ultegra SL crankset and a set or Dura Ace 7900 Pedals. I'm also looking into black cable housings because the Dura Ace gray just stands out too much. If they were black, they'd disappear. After that, the wheelset (Mavic Ksyrium Elite/Soul S2.0/BWW Blackset Race 11?) & an Edge 2.0 Fork. |
well I changed the order and wont be getting a caad10 anymore. i had the carbon itch so I scratched it. Team supersix. I still have my caad9 and will be using it for races.

BTW...I got the plastic itch myself. A SuperSix HiMod will be 1st on my list to try out. Of course, the C9 will be staying right here with me. |

The 10's remind me so much of my Trek 1.5 (today's 2.3) with their tapered tubing. I think Trek got it right with my model. The Brits have been loving Ultegra equipped 1.5's across the pond for years. They love them. I wouldn't put a 1.5/2.3 in the same league as the CAAD of course. But everybody who saw mine immediately thought that it was a Madone (even riders on bikes costing 10X my Trek 1.5 cost me). When I first saw the CAAD10, I thought it was Carbon. IMO, it's a totally different bike than my CAAD9. When I see my 9, the first thought that comes to mind is "purposeful, efficient, utilitarian (in the best sense), classic". When I see a 10, I think something totally different. I think "advanced, modern, well thought out". Damn, despite my having a beautifully built up C9 and having a SuperSix (or some other carbon frame) in my sights, I'm starting to feel a strong pull towards that CAAD10 now. The lure of that design is growing. And it has nothing to do with Cabin Fever...I've been feeling that tug since I saw one in person last year. http://cdn1.media.cyclingnews.future...l_view_600.jpg |

I am so sick of staring at the wheel in front of me for on the flats @ 24mph+
I wish you could get fitness by going slow and riding on the tops..without climbing. |
The weather gods are smiling and I FINALLY get to see what my new CAAD10 feels like on pavement tomorrow....and wearing 35 fewer pounds than the last time I hit the roads. Happy pre-Spring, everyone.

And finally...the weather is getting a little nicer. Just a tease though; Winter ain't over yet. Remember, March comes in like a lion, and goes out like a lamb. We're getting up to the mid-60's in New York by Friday! Oh happy days! :D |
