Find a different LBS!

2ndGen 03-16-11 06:20 PM

Yeah, that's totally unacceptable.

kabex 03-16-11 06:26 PM

I'd drive 4 hours each way just to buy it tomorrow

SushiJoe 03-16-11 07:07 PM

Bad picture but it's dark outside. I'll post a better one tomorrow.

CAAD9 BB30 Team Issue
SRAM Red
Zipp 101s (borrowing from a friend but might buy them for a song if I like them)

Those Zipps are so nice. I've heard people complain about the price,
yet no one's said that they can get a better set of aluminum clinchers than those Zipps.

Very nice bro. :thumb:
I'm riding tomorrow myself.

Cavemann 03-16-11 07:14 PM

CAAD9 5. Stock.

Next paycheck: DA or Koolstop brake pads; Rubino Pro or Michelin Pro Race 3 tires
Following paycheck: Easton EA70 bars and tape that's not white (super hot till dirty)
Somewhat near future: American Classic Victory Wheelset; new seatpost & stem (undecided).

I saw one of these when I was out bike shopping and thought that this was one of the most beautiful bikes I had ever seen, certainly the best looking Cannondale I have ever seen.

One of the last "classic" designed frames.
I like the CAAD10, don't get me wrong.
But I love the CAAD9's style.

SushiJoe 03-16-11 09:28 PM

CAADs by nature dig a nice Thomson cockpit.

big john 03-16-11 09:59 PM

Sushi, that's a pretty hot looking bike. Nytro, is that a Vireo connection?

So, I was talking to my CAAD the other day, and she is mad because she is still forced to travel on the stock RS10s. Seeing as how you are all so concerned about the CAADs, I was thinking, in an effort to make her happy, does anyone have any wheels they want to give her?

I know she would be quite happy with almost anything by Reynolds, Zipp or Easton. She likes carbon, but all in all she is sort of partial to aluminum braking surfaces, she says it just seems more natural given her construction. She also told me she is a fan of something called ceramic bearings...

If you would like to send them to her, I would be grudingly willing to facilitate their installation.

Best.

She's seen the elites on her roomate, the cervelo. She's not sold on them. She's looking for something a bit deeper or thicker, a platform type if you will. Again, al gifts gladly accepted. If she's not sold on them, I will find them a new home...

Oh, I see. For her "size" matters. ;) Well, in that case...Zipps 404's.
Not too extreme and they'll give her what she's looking for.

island rider 03-17-11 01:39 PM

Sure, send them along....

I can hear the chants of the little children now..."your wheels cost more than your bi-ike, your wheels cost more than your bi-ike..."

Actually, it's now official.
My bicycle costs 2X more than my Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer.

I started with a tarmac in '09. I started racing last year, so I built a CAAD9.

Mostly SRAM bits and 'merican parts. Nice, stiff, light, and responsive. Racing starts in two days!

here she is.
